Both the gen 2 and gen 1 rocket lights are available at my local home depot right now for $200. I opted for the 2135 gen 2 without a battery versus a 2130 gen 1 with a 5.0 xc battery. Which seems to be the better deal? Also any promos going on now or soon where I can get 1 or 2 9.0 batteries for a great de? My rocket light will be used primarily beside the road at night repairing peanut drying trailers while cars whiz past at 60 mph.

Depends on what your looking for I guess :D

I have 2130 with 5.0 package its good but the 35 is a lot brighter by 1000 lumens, That's a lot. On the other hand if its the cordless operation you want it wont take much to eat up smaller batteries and that's why it has the AC option. And its really too bad the 2130 doesn't have a cord connector.

I would desire having the 2135. I like the dual head design too but I was never going to pay list.

The Gen 2 is a no brainer. Corded, output but most importantly the adjustability of the triple heads make the other talking merits points added bonus .

DFB, you mentioned the 2135 eating batteries. I have two of these lights. they have low medium and high. I've never checked the stats, but would I be safe in assuming that low or medium is equivalent to the 2130 output and battery usage?

Sure I agree with that but now your not really getting the benefit of those extra lumens

I just looked on Milwaukee site these are the comparative lumen ratings and and estimated run times with a 5.0ah

2135 2hrs @3000l
2130 4hrs @ 2000l

2135 4+hrs @1700l
2130 6 hrs @ 1300l

2135 8 hrs @ 900l
2130 10 hrs @ 850l

I'm surprised there's that much of a difference at 850 vs 900 lumens.

LEDs use so little power, but I guess it's just math. Thanks for posting those numbers.

I'm not opposed to the 2130, I just happened to get both my 2135s for $200. And the swivel LED makes it really nice as well.

I don't know how many of these things I could realistically use at one time but if I ever see a 2130 for like a hundred bucks on Craigslist I'll still grab it. These are great for the campsite or for working on the off-road truck in the pits. We could definitely use one at Each corner of the truck at night time

I have the2135 my brother in law has the 2130 I don’t think the lumens is a big deal but the independent heads is worth it so nice to light a specific area and then use the others to light general area.

Truth be told, the lumens sorta depends in the environment you are in. Out of all my red lights, I grab the 1100 Floodlight the most. In certain rooms, given the situation, I would choose that over the 3K floods I have as well - and I have two of those

Ya the amount of lumen is relative to what your doing for sure ...I mean when your in the dark almost any light is good

I find the 2364 M12 rover light to quite satisfactory for many things 1000L I believe I think it works great as an under hood light. But on the other hand a small worklight like the basic M18 swivel head stick light can be ok under vehicle too go figure. I know most all these are usless around my Harley there is just waay too much reflection with the Chrome and or polished parts.

I felt my stand light @ 2000l didn't quite match up with brightness to using a Halogon worklight for interior work and I'm thinking the Rocket 2 might be better yet. But having either light to use is just so much nicer without the inherent heat problems, bulb breakage and just the freedom of having no cord. :D

Outside it is like having field lights for some of my farm oriented work. And field setup of my plant sales after dark (I could really use a second tripod for that too) and for evening setups under my flea mkt tool tent the old fluorescent lanterns work ok but I think maybe I want a long LED underhood light. The rover more than enough for to see in my trailer
