Not new...but new to me, cruizing the flea market this morning scored this 3/8 Sparta for $2.00 It was The Napa house brand a long time ago, made by New Britain. The chrome is kinda rough..but its smooth..and works great.. A nice addition to my old USA ratchet addiction...err..i mean..collection...lol.

After searching for a while for a quality socket organizer, I stumbled on this one at Lowe's and it's already made working on a project easier.

Ive been lurking for a while and I have been working on clearing out the garage and my wife showed me a post on facebook about some tools for sale so after all was said and done, I walked away with all 4 for $160. I know its not new, but they are new to me!

All looks to be in good condition. Nice score! I could really use a combination belt/disc sander, just haven't found the right deal yet.

I received a 15 inch long 1/2 drive SK tuff 1 today. After cleaning out and putting in some new lube, it works great. Only need the 1/2 inch flex head, 3/8 bent handle flex, and the 1/4" long handle.IMG_20180514_114604.jpeg

Picked up this padded shoulder strap from HD, looks real comfy. Should help out with my toolbag, the strap that came with it is so thin it digs into your shoulder

These two fine tools arrived in this mornings mail!

A 3/8" quick release ratchet and 3/8" small (10" Length) breaker bar (a.k.a. a Flex Bar?) both made by Williams are something else!

Now actually experiencing both in action, I really like them now!

Interesting that you like the Taiwanese Williams ratchets. I had ordered some, and they were total turds. Maybe I got a bad batch?

After some challenges during a recent project because I needed etorx wrenches for a tight area and didn't have swivel sockets when needed, I decided not to let that happen again... ( taking advantage of the eBay 15%)

Also picked up some long hex and triple squares.

A comparison shot of the Astro 1/4 swivel vim 1/4 estar swivel, and gw 3/8 swivel - I was most surprised by the quality of the Astro sockets.. very nice addition to the collection. I expect the gw to be larger due to the larger drive - but it doesn't have the same crisp feel to it as the others. I'm sure they'll all work fine for the few occasions that I'll need them.IMG_20180510_141022490~01.jpegIMG_20180514_153437722.jpgIMG_20180514_154011377.jpg

Any feedback on them yet?

Yup, rock stars in my book for a couple reasons. First is you can get them up close to the tire which helps load the suspension. The other is they have some type of internal captive deal, when you pick up the stand by the upper stanchion without the pin installed it doesn't come apart.

It all depends on where you are buy it I guess, maybe a few bucks difference. :dunno:

I went to the Sunex website and was checking them out, clicked on the "Find a Retailer" and came up with 4 options. Clicked on Home Depot and they currently have it listed for $417.85 for the combo set?

http://sunextools.com/product/6603asjpk-3-ton-aluminum-jack-pack/

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sunex-T...or-Jack-with-Jack-Stands-6603ASJPK/303220885?

Thank you for the info. I just purchased a HF jack and here in about a month I will be looking for an aluminum one as well. I like those jack stands, it sure seems you can get real close to the edges of your car or truck with them. I have an option to purchase a Blue Point one, but it is too much, or at least more than I want to spend. I will have to do some research I guess, and I appreciate a step in the right direction:beer:

Clarke PRO 3/8 Swivel Head Ratchet from Machine Mart. I think Machine Mart is the UK equivalent to Harbour Freight :willy_nil

Hey Mr.Lemons, Harbor Freight is pretty similar, I used to live in UK. But you would swoon at the prices here in the US, HF is so cheap for some decent stuff, however like MM you have to choose wisely as there are a lot of chocolate teapot tools!

How much is that kit?

I got them as a gift.

Nice!

How do you like those jack stands?

They look a lot nicer than the standard old metal ratcheting tripod style.

Are they tall enough for regular use?

The jacks look and feel pretty decent and I wanted a jack with larger surface area for the pavement. I hate having indentations in my drive way. The height is going to depend on the car you are working on but for me it’s fine. I support most of my cars at the pinch weld and most of the standard stand have round axle support.

Big Red and Torin have something very similar as well.

Those 1/4" ratchet handles do look sweet.

In what country are Mac tools manufactured, USA?

Kind of remind me of this style 1/2" ratchet handle, second picture.

Who makes the ratchet in the second picture? Is it one of those 3/8 in drive in 1/4 body ratchets?

I really don't know? :dunno:

It's just a picture of them that I happen to find on the internet.

I'll try and find out though.
