Someone posted some Craftsman feeler gauge deals a couple weeks ago... if you want one and didn't buy those already, here's a Gearwrench one for $5.05 online, claimed regular price $16.99, ship to store eligible:

Why do you even bother posting here at all. But I do want to thank you for staying away from Sears. More deals for all of us here. Now back to topic at hand![]()
Where are the Hot Deals?
I can't answer for the rest*, but for me it's nostalgia. I grew up with SEARS. My first new bike, well first new one that I paid for with my own earned money as a kid. The bulk candy counter in the middle of the store, the Ted Williams fishing gear, the Christmas catalog, Hillary camping gear (no not her, I mean Sir Edmund), and of course my first tools were Craftsman. It's hard to let go of what was a lifelong friend or at least the memory of a friend. My original Sears store on Lawrence Ave. in Chicago is closed now and it saddens me still, even though I live over 900 miles away. I was told that my current Sears store is the most profitable in the DFW area and probably won't close until the whole chain does. Which is kind of ironic (that is if I understand the meaning of irony, which sometimes I don't) because the store that was there before Sears moved in was....wait for it...wait.....Montgomery Ward!
(* I said I couldn't but I'll try anyway.) Now all the rest of these guys here it's probably not really an old childhood love, but more like a fresh kill that hasn't died just yet but is writhing on the blood soaked ground trying to determine a survival strategy. These hyenas constantly find ways to turn those stategies against the poor animal by inflicting new wounds by working the "points" and "Free cash" offers just to benefit themselves. Why yes, I am Joe King.
To be honest I'm actually a hyena myself, because the Sears that I love is already dead, so I'm just in it for me as well.

I take mine out of the trunk every month to check it's charge, and so far it's it needs a top off about every this month. Even then it's only down to 90ish percent.

The magnetic finger thing is back down to $2.99, decent filler item if you didn't get one last Christmas season. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-magnetic-finger-ge/p-A011260021
It might seem silly, but it is good for picking up screws and such like they advertise, and I also have found it helpful when using fiddly little L-shaped Allen wrenches, to prevent dropping one.
I have long since exhausted my stores supply of those pencils and keychain things and don't need any more buckets, will have to keep these magnet things in mind. Thanks, I'm seriously past my need for buckets. Worst case I can steal the magnets for something. Recently I took some thin magnets I salvaged and hot glued them to carpenter's pencils (also Sears filler items), seems to be pretty convenient sticking them to tools, tool boxes, etc.
So, I will now be happy to stay out of this thread - and stay away from Sears - and wish you luck as you continue to deal with them.

@Hexen - perfect timing for that Greenlee Cable Cutter. I do not have that in my tool box and have freecash $8 off $20 that expires today![]()

So I see that my wife got another sweeps weekly email in her inbox along with $5 freecash, but I did not get mine. I am using gmail. Hopefully it is just late to get to my inbox for some reason. I want my $5 freecash
Any thoughts what to buy in $5-$10? Never thought I would be in this situation. I am running out of cheap stuffs in $5-$10 to buy
I used to get single sockets, wrench but now I have all of the size that I need.
Craftsman 165pc Mechanics Tool Set
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-165pc-mechanics-tool-set/p-A014491227
$49.99 online sale for ship-to-home only, $149.99 regular price (and current online store-pickup price)
Reportedly the same set now being sold at Lowe's.
If you want to get it in-store, cashiers should be willing to price-match the online ship-to-home price.
The people doing that reporting really need to get their eyes checked. Only took me a few seconds to see that the Lowe's set has more ratchets and wrenches, and less screw bits:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/CRAFTSMAN-...olished-Chrome-Mechanic-s-Tool-Set/1000462679
I thought it's odd that the Sears Craftsman description mentions 1/2" drive sockets, but I see they included an 1/2" adapter for the 3/8" ratchet. Even with those 1/2" drive sockets, it's 79 sockets vs 92 for the Lowe's set.

PS: I saw the Sears 4th of July appliance sale TV ad several times again tonight.
Sears is using all of our FreeCash on commercials

2-pack of Craftsman 12" miter saw blades (80 tooth and 32 tooth) for just under $32:
https://www.sears.com/cm-2pk-12in-32t-8blades/p-00937673000P?
Lowest price ever according to price tracker.
Same exact blades as DEWALT DW3128P5, even the plastic packaging (I own both sets).
Just an fyi those made in Germany ones are actually made in Israel. Don't ask how they got those mixed up. Does say German engineered on the package. I bought an 80 and 60 tooth ten inch and they seem very good. Black blade with white and green letters.I remember seeing some of the Craftsman blades being made in Germany several months ago. I called my Hometown store, and they said they had China ones, so II'm passing for now. Are the ones you have German or China? If you say they are China but good, I may still bite. Can always include them with the 12" saw I'm selling to maybe help sell faster, after all I'd be using points on them.
Thanks for the post

Same as DeWalt, Craftsman has 2 lines of blades. One line is made in China, and is meant to be disposable when dull. DeWalt calls them "Construction" blades. That's what this set is, but painted black and with a Craftsman logo. I'm very pleased with them, especially the 80 tooth 12" (in both DeWalt and Craftsman).
DeWalt and Craftsman also have a different, higher-end line of blades that are thicker, laser cut, with larger carbide tips, meant to be sharpened when dull. I believe they're meant more for woodworkers, but the woodworker crowd recommend even more expensive blades in their forums. That line from Craftsman used to be made in Germany, but is now made in Israel.
I have one of each (Israel and China) in 60 tooth 10 inch, and their cuts appear identical to me. In 12 inch, I only have these DeWalt and Craftsman "Construction" blades (China), and have been very pleased. The cuts on the 80T are extremely clean, with no tear-out, and none of my blades have any visible runout (they're straight).
