Well, Lowes, Home Depot, and Menards have one, so might as well get one going. I keep seeing new threads for individual deals. Might as well consolidate everything and keep one thread running. There may have been one before that's been buried, didn't take the time to check.

Here we go, post your Sears deals here.

Armstrong 8 mm 12 pt. Full Polish Long Combination Wrench $1.96

Armstrong 1-1/8 in. socket, 12 pt., STD, 1/2 in. drive $2.54

Craftsman CM 5PC Metric Wrench Set $4.47 (copied from another thread)

Good thread to start Spn1025! Sears always has something on clearance and they definitely don't like BIG stuff lying around. Picked up a few super one-off NIB deals at a local Sears yesterday so we shouldn't limit ourselves to HD or Lowes. Got a 12.5 cu ft poly cart for $240>$50, Gladiator full-depth chest for $399>$25, trampoline $349>$80, and push mower 3N1 for $309>$99. So deals are out there B+M and online. I will post as soon as I see some

Thread could take off with some newly discovered clearanced NOS Craftsman

I would rather keep deal-specific threads vs. company-specific. There is just naturally too much noise when you make them company-specific as every thread naturally gets a bit off topic, especially when people are responding to say they could or could not find this or that in their store. If you don't care about the item that is on deal, then you can easily skip that thread and associated noise. If you care about that item, by all means see all of the conversations even if they are only tangent to the deal.

I am trying to increase efficiency here, it is the reason a separate forum was created for Hot Deals vs. all hot deals in a single thread, which it used to be. Thanks guys.

It's my opinion the Lowes and HD threads already suffer from this. Just trying to stop the bleeding.

I go the other way. There are too many deals each week for Sears, just like Menards, HD, and Lowes Perma type threads. Best to capture the little stuff in a catchall thread like those for Sears rather than make a new thread in Hot Deals every 10 minutes. I like the idea of it. I can just quickly go to last page of the threads I care about this way each day or two and catch up on the latest, versus trying to do that with 30 threads instead. - Paul

I think its a good idea SPN1025, I dont mind checking the HD/Lowes/Menards threads for store specific deals. I just scroll past the off topic posts anyways.

Speaking of off topic:
Is your name in any way related to the SAE J1939 message SPN 1025? :)

For all the small deals these threads are ok. For the better deals, a dedicated thread is preferred.

Not to be too critical, but these are illusory deals. Look at the first one for example -- it's normal retail price is $12. You'd think it's a steal at $1.99 ... until you see that it's not avialable to ship to store, and your only option is to pay $6 to ship it. That means the real price is $8. That's better than $12, but nowhere near close to $2. Obligatory 3rd party shipping charges kill the deal.

Sorry, didn't really read into it much.. Just saw the price and posted it.

Actually the Armstrong wrench is showing "free shipping eligible" sold by Sears, so just add it to any order. I don't know why the Armstrong socket link is pulling up glue sticks on my phone.

I think what breaks the system is there is a couple people that seem to visit every Lowes and HD store in their locale every single day (I don't know how you can do that and be employed, but whatever) and report daily what they find or didn't find. That is what makes it hard, some of the posts are valid new deals but there is a lot of noise. I'm not sure what the answer is. To me, if the volume of deals at a company is low or seasonal (Zorro) than a company-thread is fine. But for Lowes/HD/Sears that is not the case and I think the deals should be posted on their own.

Very hard to get consensus on this, I am still amazed at how much fighting there was to make a separate deals forum vs. a single thread.

Agree, I think deals should be posted separate and not in one thread. Zoro is the exception to this as their deals are site-wide and not on specific items only.

Can the mods make a call on this?

EDIT: Another reason for individual threads (for me at least) is I don't care as much where my tool comes from but rather that it's the exact tool I want at the right price. Whether it comes from Sears or Lowes doesn't matter to me.

I also like individual threads. The best deals sometimes only last hours so unless you check a thread every day, you will miss a lot.

I don't understand why there has to be a decision about the existence of this thread. If enough people are interested in it and post good deals, it will thrive. If most people don't like it, it wil fizzle out. Just let it run its course.

All I know is that all the deals posted in this thread probably wouldn't have been posted at all if it weren't for this thread.

If everyone made a new that each time a clearance or hot deal popped up at sears lowes or HD they would get buried on page 3, 4 or 5 in the forum. This way is easy to view, increase the number of posts you see pet page and boom you don't have to sort through multiple pages every day.

In spirit of the thread, I also encourage each person to check their local ads. Plenty of deals on a YMMV basis.

A year or two ago I ordered some Armstrong sockets for local pick up because they were a great deal. It showed that they were available at my local store, which confused me, but I ordered anyway. Low and behold, what they actually had for me was a bunch of glue sticks. Somewhere in Sears' system, they have these mixed up!

Interesting.. I figured it was just a bad reference between the desktop and mobile sites..

x2 Everyone is always free to post things however they want to. For those that want to share an individual hot deal and not put them in this thread, that is fine and they are free to do so. For those that want to support this thread and have all the recent deals in one place, then support it. I'll support this one as I like the single one stop threads for most deals. A screaming 95% off limited time thing, maybe deserves its own thread, but even there, I'd mention it here too for completeness. My 2 cents. - Paul

So everyone crying foul that this would become a cluttered mess b/c it is attempting to stand as it's own thread for multiple hot deals from Sears have done exactly what they were speaking out against...cluttering the thread with useless posts...

Ill play. I picked up two Fein Mutlimaster tools at Sears 2 days ago on clearance for $60 each. This was at the location at Strongsville OH Mall. There were several still there when I left but I am not sure if there are any left now. Link to the tool is below but they show full price online. I have not looked at Sears local to see if the lower price is reflected there or not.

Did these have the big yellow and white clearance tags on them?

This is a picture of the box. There was a whole end cap of them (7-9 probably) next to the tool section entrance.

I like how you pealed that sticker off something else and put it on the Fein.

(totally kidding) Nice find ~ The 250M goes for $180 full price at Home Depot.

Saw the peeling sticker when I took the picture and figured someone would say that. :p I know you were kidding but there is no way I would post to a forum about it had I actually done that. That's just asking for trouble.

No they just had little pink clearance tags on them. I can post a picture here in a bit.

Ok, that means the price (likely) came from corporate, and it's more likely that others will be able to replicate. I know one of my local stores was clearing out the Fein line several months ago, but all they had left were the accessories.

It comes as no surprise; I worked at Sears for a year and a half and only ever saw 2 Fein multitools sell. I think they're great, but there wasn't enough marketing and they are out of the price range of the typical Sears shopper.

I'm thinking it should be a good upgrade from my 4 year old Rockwell. I can post a receipt tonight if anyone thinks it will help with price matching.

Please do . . . I'm now believer of oscillating tool as just about wore out the $5 special coupon deal I got at Harbor Freight. It's screaming now a high pitched shrill but still working. Maybe all the dust it inhaled while gutting 2 bathroom floors worth of tile and particle board "underlayment" that I had to dig out !! ;) A Fein Multimaster would be a nice upgrade for me.
