Well I have just finally caught up to the present time , July 2018 after reading your whole thread. It has taken me over two months ! Kinda like watching "back to the Future" movies as I would also from time to time read your current post of the day. I kept wanting to reply to various posts , but then "hang on , that was in 2015" so refrained or it would have made no sense. I love the way you do all this stuff, maybe that's why it has taken me so long to read your mixed grill thread- I keep getting inspired to do things at my place between readings !

Then back home to do ironing, clean house and then head for garage.

My deck furniture has been degenerating over time.

Found this chair on the South Circular and fixed it, minor repair.



Mate Kevin dropped off some chairs his wife had thrown out, so they needed a bit of tlc as well, mainly Danish Oil like the other chair did, but they looked a bit tired against it.



I made the mistake of buying two litres of Outdoor Furniture oil, and not Danish Oil as planned, only realised once I opened it and poured into my tub.

Still, it certainly revitalised the wood, comparing one done vs one not yet done.




I will go get some Danish Oil during the week and give them a coat over the oil.
Should be good.

Been awake since 03.00

Had planned some truck time this weekend, just did not quite turn out as I wanted it to.

But, got stuff done and Bootfair God’s were kind to me.

Unpacked part of the small 2berth caravan that is one of my storage sheds, can’t go wrong with £40.00 for a large shed, can you?

Got the fenders out, that went in there over three years ago.

Laid them out and realised that I have my work cut out for me.





Passenger side, filled with mud and not healthy, loads of filler evident.



Also evidence on both sides of loads of filler......



Looks like a world of pain to me.



Patch panels and replacement braces laid out.





In the end I decided that as it was 15.00 already, I would carry on with the r pairs on some,hardwood deck,chairs mate Kevin had brought over.

Now the weekend is over it seems..

despite this, I still go to the Brighton marina boot fair often. didn't get anything but saw a skull I liked. it wasn't anything majorly crazy but it was £90. so it didn't come home

Rian, love the fedora. I'm usually humming the theme song to Indiana Jones whenever something gets fixed proper. You know those gaps are huge when both the African and Asian continents can be seen through them. For the hard hat, it could also be repurposed to hold snacks if you turned a base for it or stuck on some rubber feet. Looks like the bootfair gods were feeling quite generous.

I have never liked Brighton, neither the trip there, nor the overpriced, unavailable parking.

In my book it is a suburb of London and overpriced to suit the taste of the local residents.

Your hammer, I predict, will find a special place inside your home.......

Hat was a great find for sure, glad I knew what it was.

Still researching joggled vs **** welded joins. However, the Guru has suggested Joggling

Once the next 12days are out the way, I may get back onto it. (Mid year reviews and a few other bits)

I need to clean up both fender panels on both sides and deconstruct them as far as needs to be gone.

Then decide what I have to work with.

There are oceans of filler there, and if you recall the original lower control arm, the truck was in a decent shunt at some point, so it could have included sheetmetal too.

Fetched a fan from the garage, because it got hot.

This thermometer is inside my bathroom.



At about 19.00 Iwent to the garage to give the four rescue chairs a coat of Danish Oil.

With help as always.



Despite the two coats of furniture oil, you can s e the difference the Danish Oil made.



And all four done.

Happy with the exult.

Probably around £35.00 plus my time

Gives me great pleasure starting a fire in snow or very low temperatures and knowing the smell of burning cow and chicken drives the neighbourhood mad.

The chairs will work for sure.

It certainly is warm Steve.

Went to sleep at 10.30pm, woke at 12.00 to take pills as back and shoulder were playing up. Woke at 02.00 and by 2.30 turned off the fan as the drone kept me awake, then could not,get back to sleep and got up at 05.30 to do some admin, feed cats and get ready to come to London.
In Guys Hospital by 08.50 for work, have a 12.30 training session booked with 20 senior nurses for an hour, last one was brilliant, even got applause.
Then head home by 14.00 for 2.5 hr train trip, get admin, laundry done and have Joy over for dinner, which may become take always as I cannot be bothered to cook us dinner in this heat.

Worked in London on Friday. Had a training session for 20 senior nurses that went great.

Earlier in the day I saw this bike.

Branded as a Mondial, I suspect it is another Chinese built clone, using an old name and license.

They are available in 125cc and 250cc and I love the look.



By 15.00my car said it was a bit hot.



Back home, even the cats had melted, looked like Dukey had tried to drag himself off the couch and failed.



Had to go to the shops yesterday, was looking for some affordable work shirts, this led me to the usual Turkish restaurant I love going to on a Saturday afternoon.

Not a good day for Bootfairs today.

The larger One has shut down for the rest of the year, due to trading laws, which means they can only use a site so many times per year, and the second site they usually move to has been closed down this year, as it will be developed into an housing estate.

So the smaller site was operating. But with less than half the field occupied by 06.30 when I got there, usually it’s a lot fuller even by then.

So I did not hold out much hope, and seeing hordes of Eastern Europeans flocking the site meant some shoving and being walked out the ground, fortunately I am larger than life and only got shoved once.

I walked the rows and there was very little of interest, and I tend to avoid tables when there are 10 young men milling about, all speaking foreign and getting way too close inside my personal space, I had been attempted to get pick pocketed a few years ago by a man, I got his hand on my wallet in my pocket, and landed a flat handed slap to the side of his head, this really pisssed Nicola off at the time as she was worried I could have been assaulted by a gang, but I told her in no uncertain terms to not even go there, she may have understood.

So by the time I got to the second row, after starting out, I saw some bits, randomly on a table. Seller a super nice guy, chatted with him for about 15 minutes in the end.

Bought a few things off him.



Some 150mm Velcro 320 grit sanding discs for when I get to that on the truck.

£5.00/50 per box, one box for mate Martin. Or about $7.50 per box



3mm drill bits 10/pack £5.00 took all four as they are disposable these days. Or $7.50 for 10
12mm HSS drill bit £1.00 or about $1.50



So the Bootfair was not a total bust.

Came home and now it is raining, perfect to break the long hot spell, and stop me from grinding a truck fender

If Joy doesn't take the chairs, you probably can make a bigger deck table. That pizza looked delicious. If you haven't tried it before, grilled pizza is also very delicious. You can use a ceramic round, but I've put the dough right on the grill before and it works great. I'm guessing you could get yours pretty hot which is best for the dough and ingredients.

Bummer about the rain, but you'll be stateside before you know it.

I like rain. More than doing jobs as I love my garden and plants.

Thank you mate, I always hate these things.

In the job I do, we have field trainers who are meant to work with us once a month tomfine tune and ensure maximising everything we do.

The last time I had a trainer out with me was October 2016 Yes,really.

My new manager, in post since January, went out to work with me on the 12th July for the first time.
His predecessor who is bowman the bigger boss, was out with me in May last year.......

Yet, they make decisions on our performance, remuniration etc when they pretty much have no clue what I am doing, except for generating £1.5 mil per year.

So I do worry, in case they get clever with me.

Guess they leave me alone as they know they don’t need to baby sit me.

We expected nothing less.

Thank you too, feels good, now I can get a bit more sleep.

I didn't know if the place would interest you guys but glad to know it does.

Looking forward to a factory trip and trying to understand your business a bit better.

Over in St Louis, Dennis’ replica gas station is taking shape, rain and weather has hampered progress recently, but he hopes to get a full day on it today.



Took a day vacation yesterday and did a load of garden work, as well as cutting my and Mickeys hedges. The heat was a killer, but it is all done.



Bootfair in the morning and hope to get some time on one or both of the truck fenders to clean them up to see what is hidden under it all,
