Early Deltas are among the best grinders ever made, very smooth and precise. Massively built to last a lifetime, industrial duty all the way. Blocks are very good DIY grinders (I have several for wire wheel duty), and best alternatives to current Chinese ****. If you have them side-by-side, there is really no comparison.
X2, have both here, the Delta is a beast just to move it around. Cast iron in machine tools is always a good thing. No experience with a 3/4 or 1 HP block though, so one of those might possibly be in the Delta class, dunno, but the 1/2 HP and smaller certainly aren't.
