Nice looking engine, as always. The way Andy is eyeballing it, the French maid better show up to keep him distracted.

One less engine in Dads shed , Aiden (my nearly 2 year old) Dad and I stripped the #007 mgf cup car engine, there is still some bits and bobs I need to collect from dads, But another job well done.
Some good quality parts steel billet crank and Arrow rods - £4000 pound new shall be a good baseline.:beer:

You two make a good team. I can relate to oldironfarmer, usually when I drag something home it rusty and dirty. Not nice looking engine jewelry like that. Should be some good parts in there for future engines.

1/2: i'm guessing you helped Andrew remove the parts cause they have your shiny signature stamp on them?

nice work (AGAIN)

so are you finally done with the Dr. appointments for a while or do you have another round to go?

best of luck at work this week. maybe a little DRONE TIME too?

Andrew: it's nice to have a few parts so you don't have to wait for London to ship some not to mention the expense. WELL DONE!!

That's some nice stuff. We never see stuff like that in my shed.:headscrat

Andy there is nothing like nice and shiny stuff.

Is it because you're always melting it?

xtremek good one.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Shorty the engine is in really nice condition and a great score. As xtremek said Andy is likely to melt it down so the French Maid would be a welcome distraction at the moment.

Bob I swing both ways as I do like rust and shiny as well.
The engine will make an excellent core:thumbup:

Drives thank you, Andrew and Grand son Aiden did the work for the most part.

I am still not done with doctors appointments yet, as much as I would dearly like.

No6 Immunotherapy last Wednesday and I am still feeling the side effects of joint pain.

Blood test this morning.

A full contrast CT Scan tomorrow morning from head to toe, that means a fast then drink that nasty Barium drink one hour prior and yet another infusion injection.

Oncology appointment on Wednesday to review and see just how effective the Immunotherapy treatment has been to date, fingers crossed for that one...

I am pretty much office bound this week but that's OK as its nice an warm there. The weather has not been conducive to any Drone flying so far, the forecast is for cold and wet all week.

Thank you one and all for dropping by and have a great day.

1/2cup, since you have flying in your background and drone flying at work, you may want to find Trent Palmer on Youtube. He flies drones professionally doing movies, commercials, etc, and has a KittFox bush plane he flies for fun. For an over the top bush plane build, look into Mike Patey's DRACO Willga bush plane rebuild( money was NOT a problem). Mike is a super talented fabricator and entrepeneur.

Steve, all the finger crossing, praying etc aside, I really do wish you a most uncomplicated, and if there is such a thing, comfortable recovery process.
There is so much going on inside of your body right now, systems fighting each other, fighting the drugs and the drugs fighting your body and each other. It is probably worse than any fight sequence in any action movie, be it sci-fi or cowboys. All in the contained space that is your body.

In the mean time we are all out here in internet-land rooting for you and willing you on, carrying you in our thoughts daily.

Look after yourself and you know by now, you need to listen to both your body as well as your various teams.

Good to see you keeping busy too.

Engine back there looking soooo pretty, Love to touch and smell it.

Andrew has reason to be pleased and proud.

I am off for a cancer screen tomorrow afternoon late, had a lung function testing process on Friday and waiting for another referral to a specialist for my back that has been getting progressively worse since December, none of it comes close to your recent experiences but I am not enjoying them much in my head, so can only imagine how strong you are and have been to date.

Again, respect to your various teams, Family, Healthcare and the wider circle of friends willing you on here and at home.

Ric thank you for the heads up:thumbup:

I have actually flown in a KITFOX they are quite the popular recreational aircraft out here. Fun to fly and have fantastic short field landing and take off capabilities.

http://www.kitfoxaircraft.com/index.php

The DRACO is one awesome short field take off and landing aircraft and takes things to the next level.

https://www.facebook.com/EAA/videos/10156843232008623/

With a turbo prop engine it is just a tad out of my price range.

Thanks again:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Steve now you have gone and activated my aircraft brain wire again! I could give up my GT Mustang for one of these. How short a grass field will they land and take of in? Couldn't find any specs. on that?

1/2: hope all goes well at the doctor's tomorrow. I don't know if you own or have access to an inversion table, but it really seems to help me after a hard day of working out or just lifting and moving stuff. not sure it will help with what is going on with you, but I know exercise and good mental health are your allies so maybe that is the direction you need to go.

in any case I really hope all this medication and treatments are ridding your body of the **** you picked up soon.

prayers sent and still crossing my fingers!!

Rian thank you so much for your ongoing support.
You are spot on as to what is happening in my body right now its not easy that’s for sure but I am copping quite well at the moment and if there is one thing that I have learnt out of all this is to do exactly that “ listen to my body “

It is good to be busy as it is great therapy not that I dwell on things too much in any case.
All the best with your Cancer screening I trust all goes well.
The support I have received through the journey has been outstanding and I just can’t thank every enough:bowdown:

X2! Every day!

P.S. Forged pistons are not the best aluminium for casting but I will melt them given the chance. Ingots are bright and shiny :bounce:

Andy thank you:bowdown:

That's a relief but the head, block and sump are all cast aluminium and lots of it.

More doctors appointments? When do they expect you to be done? I hope everything goes well.

xtremek yep more doctors appointments they just don't stop until I get the all clear and then I will be monitored for a number of years after that. I am pleased that I am looked after so well and are hoping for a good outcome tomorrow.

Bobby here is the specs for the KITFOX.

They are pretty impressive.

From watching the Flying Cowboys 2018 EAA AirVenture videos, the KitFox, CarbonCub, Taylorcrafts were landing in about 125'to 150'. DRACO had a 126' and 2-118' landings. Having a reversible prop really helps cut it short. Takeoff rolls in the 125'to 200' range for the group. These planes have all been modified from stock in various ways for better performance.

Steve, Trent Palmer has a video interviewing Mike Patey about the DRACO build and when asked about the costs, Mike replied " what it really cost, or what I told my wife it cost? I told her I was selling the original engine and applying that toward another engine. The plan build cost around a million and if you figure my time at $1 an hour, then $1,003,000."( Plane sold for $233.000 new, and Mike's is one of the last,if not the last, one built.)

Oh Boy! I have twice that length but in the wrong direction. BUT my neighbor has two aircraft and a diagonal strip across both properties could be a possibility? Great performance chart. Let's see, the shipyard lets out for lunch at 11am. I have a clear view up the highway for half a mile. Police station is half hour away. My neighbors love me. I think I could pull it off!!!!!!!!! Pun intended.:lol_hitti

Ric those figures are truly impressive:thumbup:
The turbo prop is just awesome.

I know what I am doing this weekend and that is watching many of those youtube videos..:thumbup:

1/2 Cup,
I hope the test results come out as they should.
You are in my prayers.

Another here with good wishes and strong hopes that you have another good diagnostic!

A guy I know who does work for diagnostic labs used to say "every time you slug a barium cocktail you have to remind yourself that you're glad it's not strontium" Still nothing pleasant about ingesting a heavy metal solution.

Funny seeing Draco come up as I just finished watching the youtube series on Mike Patey rebuilding his Wilga during tea breaks, after I caught up on Project Binky ep18 over the weekend.

Guster thank you:thumbup:

The Barium mix was enough you would recon they would put just a little flavouring in it to kill the taste. I have never had Stontium and I don't think I want to go there either.

That's my mission this weekend to look at the Mike Patey
series of videos :thumbup::thumbup:

You picked a great day to go for the tests. If you are having the same weather as I am here cold and wet. All the best.

HOTFR8 it has been a cold & miserable day up until 3pm when the clouds broke an we finally had some sunshine with 16 mm of rain all up.
It was nice and warm in the doctors surgery so it was not that bad.

Steve....
Good luck on the tests.....

PRAYERS . . . .

Lynn W

Lynn thank you so much, I feel something is working

See below

All, Well the results of my 3 months of Immunotherapy are finally all in;

Bloods - all good:thumbup:

Lungs - all clear:thumbup:

Lymph Nodes - either static and showing no signs of activity or have reduced in size.

Head to toe - no other new cancerous activity.

PS I could still see the exit and entry scar tissue around the Lymph from the Radiation treatment. When you look at a scan, heck the body is an amazing place.
So it was interesting comparing mine from 12 months ago till now the change has been dramatic.

In a nut shell the Immunotherapy has showing great early results as the full effects don't really kick in until 6 months and keep going for 12 months.

The plan moving forward is to remain on the Immunotherapy treatment every two weeks for the next few months then review the situation after that, as things are going so well at the moment.

Once again I do sincerely thank you one and all for your thoughts and prayers as it is most definitely working, I am just so humbled by that.

1/2: with all that good news I bet you and your family are ecstatic and very happy too (LIKE WE ARE). Congrats and of course I expected this cause your MENTAL HEALTH has be OUTSTANDING through all of this which I know hasn't had many fun moments.

I don't have to tell you to eat well and exercise because you seem to do that anyway, but if a small diet change might prevent this from happening again i'd look into that so maybe you'll never have to go to Immunotherapy again.

what's even better is you were able to keep your great job and you had great support from there during this entire situation.

back to the drones, engine rebuilds and maybe a bit of racing and picking too.

cheers and PRAYERS to you sir!!
