The Napa near me has a few scratch and dent Homak boxes, one of them is an RS Pro with the 54" combo (Blue). Didn't really get to check and examine it over since I was in a rush, but just putting it out there.

As much as I would like a new one, a good priced scratch and dent wouldn’t be bad. Depending of course how bad it is and the price. Were any of them 72” orange combo? There’s no rush, but I’d be interested in your opinion if you get a chance to check them out. Again, don’t make time to do it, but if you happen to be in NAPA sometime.

I adapted a 6’ stainless power strip made for Lista work benches to my box. Some spray paint and gloss clear and from the front it is good enough in garage lighting to not tell the difference unless you start examining. Keeps stuff from rolling off the back. Best of all is no drilling in the box. It uses the threaded existing holes.

Be nice, I’m still moving stuff around in the garage to accommodate the larger box.

I can post the Amazon link for the power strip, detailed pics, and the other parts I used if anyone is interested.

Please send a link for the power strip / amazon! I have a SPG Internatinal box which is roughly the same size and have been very happy with it (despite a few growing pains of doors that need to be adjusted)

They did mention there was a 72" scratch and dent, but it was in the back due to lack of floor space; I'll ask what color it is tomorrow when I pick up a tool I ordered from the real deals flyer.

Price dropped another $300...That’s awesome. I will have to check the NAPA near me to see if they have the same price. $2300 seemed like a great price, but $2000 is even better.

Re: Homak RS-Pro 72" Tool Box

The RS PRO is also 24 deep, but the drawers are 21.25....I like the drawer setup better on the RS PRO over the Masterforce and I don’t think the Masterforce 72” has a top box. The Homak has power in the top box.

So all Homak really has left to do is figure out how to add power to the box then? Someone needs to get a Homak rep on the journal, stat!

I’m going to move the power from the top of the box to the lower middle drawer of the top box. Make my own power drawer. As for power plugs on the side of the box...I don’t really need that.

Anyone know for sure if the lastest Black one is flat black? I called Homak twice and the first time they said it was flat black then the next person said it was gloss black. It looks flat black in the pics with gloss black drawer pulls? I am looking for a flat black upper for a Matco flat black bottom. Thanks

Real pictures of them clearly depict them as Gloss Black. Check out Post #17, 91 & 112 of this thread for pics and a video of black RS Pro boxes.

Yes i seen those pics. They are gloss black with white "RS" decals on the front. The new advertising appears to be flat black with a grey or silver "RS" decal.

Pretty sure it’s gloss black. One of the guys on here did a YouTube review on his black one and it was gloss black. You can go to YouTube and enter Homak tool box in the search.

Looks like it only has 4 casters? I would think a 72” bench would have 6. My 60” husky has 6. For that price I’d be looking at the 72” husky.

Their pricing on the 72" combo is such a killer deal right now, especially since they're listed at 24" deep + free shipping [plus the cost of liftgate service]

I wish their black box was a matte black, like the pictures show...but the gloss black doesn't look bad either, in all pictures and videos I've seen of it.

Their website needs some work, with regards to customer accounts. I was attempting to create an account, yet their page for that has been down for weeks now. I even fired off an email asking them to fix this, but no response to that either.

I saw that too. I’ve been thinking about building a platform to place it on instead of the casters. Not like I’m going to roll a box that big around. I wouldn’t think that would hurt the box any, right?

I couldn’t imagine why it wouldn’t be ok to have on a platform. While I’m sure if it only has 4 casters its been engineered to carry that load, I know I’d feel better if it had them in the middle so the box doesn’t bow from the weight.

Snap On Epiq 84" boxes have 4 casters and Mac Maximizer triple banks got 4 casters; I don't really understand your logic? Where I work we got carts to move our product with 120,000lbs capacity that have 4 casters. If something was engineered for a certain weight capacity it is fine. I look at Husky putting 6 casters on a 60" box as compensation for using thinner frame material and cheaper, lighter duty casters. My 52' Husky box (22" deep) had 4 casters, was about 1000lbs loaded and rolled fine. The Homak is currently sitting somewhere around 1300lbs (still gaining) and rolls better than the Husky did. The casters are a lot better than anything I've seen/used on big box store boxes or HF boxes. You got to figure also that this box was designed to have the weight of a loaded top box on it as well, figure an additional 1500lbs+.

6 wheels stresses box more if move them a lot and floor uneven and centre wheels not sprung .
Most cheaper boxes have centre set as frame weak .

Some nice lookin boxes in this thread. I wonder what kind of discount a NAPA employee could get on these? I have a friend who's worked for NAPA for probably 20 years, I'll ask him later tonight....

Masterforce is a killer box at the rebate/sale prices . certainly good match to rs pro build spec/design .
They make HF US General look overpriced and poor spec .

yeah drawer layout biggest flaw, could do with more shallow drawers, they really need give a layout option or a the least make buying couple shallow drawers to swap out a deep a pretty easy/affordable option .

72" with SS top is back for $1399 in all colors, and they also have a 54" with SS top as well for $899. I'm still loving my orange 72", really wish i had the funds to pick up a matching roll cart but the GF and I bought a $30k camper this summer so my tool funds are a bit dry. :headscrat
