Keep on keeping on! Don't listen to the negative nay-sayers, this world needs more people doing innovative stuff like this, not less! I hope a big tool company takes on your products putting them in hardware store across the globe. I hope you have your intellectual property protected, patents etc.

I appreciate your comments.
My law firm has been doing quite well off of us, thank you:(

When I started this thread I was just having fun teaching my apprentice about product design and manufacturing and this thread documents a fair amount of it.

"Inventer" is not the correct spelling.
1. Originally typed post without looking.
2. After seeing your post I read it as "inventor" not "inventer". This is because after two retina surgeries I often see what I expect to see, not what is actually there. This has cause me many problems.

Thanks

I had to make one last post.
In this video, I asked my partner Justin Medlin to demo an air ratchet connected to a Goodyear whip hose via our Orbital connector.
A machine tool engineer who is visiting tried it and told me:
"Every mechanic in the world is going to want this". That's exactly what he said. His name is Joe Peltier of Concept machine in Minneapolis.

My humble apologies, I thought that post was a troll.

I believe your products are something that'll have you busier than one-armed paper hanger.

I'll be placing an order in the next few days.

Again, I apologize.

No need to be humble or apologize John. I'm too old to be offended.
I hope you buy some and give us some feedback.

Thanks

I often pick up an air tool attached to one of my orbital fittings and can't tell if it's pressurized or not. (No Joke)
On the other hand, you can clearly see how I struggle to connect the tool under this high a pressure and this brand is easier then many.
I hope to get my easy to connect coupler in production within a few months.

We understand that, but best to clear it with Ryan first- especially if you post from the "Leveleer" and "Stedlin" names from the same PC. Plus, you can probably get your the little title below the "Stedlin" name changed from "Member" to "Vendor" or "Manufacturer Rep"

Who else is using 2 names?

What you you want to say about the video? :headscrat That your swivel looks interesting/intriguing, yes it does. But sorry, I'm not spending that much on them, when I cannot touch or feel them first. Nothing personal

Stedlin, leveleer, or whatever, it is clear that you have posted as both users and I would hate to see you get banned over something silly like this. GJ does not let people change usernames, so when you start out with a username like pink bubble bath, then decide you want to become purple bubble bath, you are SOL. Just talk to a Moderator, you could get banned automatically if there were certain criteria met, I want to see more of what you have to offer, so don’t get banned.

I joined the forum for fun a couple of years go.
Now I have a new company to run and it's a serious business.
I have so far spent zero dollars on advertising as sales is not going to be a problem. Meeting production goals is going to be the problem.
My products sell themselves.
I have already taken orders from at least 1 multi billion dollar company.
If I were to be banned for something so trivial, then so be it.

What response from the video were you looking for? I watched it, was reasonably impressed, checked out the website, and moved on with my day. You didn't explicitly ask for feedback, so I saw no reason to provide any.

I also do not understand your reaction to others asking you to send Ryan a private message. It would take all of 30 seconds to do, and would prevent you from inadvertently getting banned accidentally. Some forums automatically ban users with multiple accounts once they're detected. We're all just trying to be helpful, yet you're just digging your feet in and refusing to do something so simple for no reason at all.

Also, word of advice: Media presence is everything these days. I've seen tons of new companies say their products will sell themselves, get a few big early adopters, and then close up shop a year later when they don't get any new customers. Saying you have "multi-billion dollar" customers is meaningless when any company that big will have tons of averge-joes in every department capable of ordering anything they want on a whim. I work for a very large company, and we buy small quantities of things from suppliers all the time. Just because we bought 30 widgets from you, doesn't mean we're going to buy 300,000 more.

Media presence is everything. Hire a full-time guy to handle your media presence, get them signed up on all the tool forums as registered vendors, and advertise your product.

We have received inquiries about the coupling demonstrated in the video at the beginning of this thread. I have stated numerous times that that coupling will not be produced period. It has a fundamental flaw that costs too much to correct. I designed that coupling over two years ago and have designed numerous improved versions.
We plan to introduce them in no more then three months.

I finally got around to installing my Stedlin orbital quietplug on my brad nailer yesterday and worked with it today. I like the extra flexibility it provides. I also like the quiet disconnect. You don't realize how loud the old connectors were until you use the Quietplug for a day. When I'm casing windows and doors I have a brad nailer loaded with 1-1/2" brads and one loaded with 2" and switch back and forth. Lots of quieter disconnects now. Nice work Stedlin.

Which of the many coupler standards is the Stedlin plug compatible with? I didn't see that info on the website.

1/4 industrial interchange standard. Same as Milton M style.
We also carry the industrial high flow standard. Same as Milton V style.

I received my orbital plug and after using it in my Automotive Repair Shop I am happy to say that it functioned as claimed and does make a noticeable difference with articulation of air tools connected to it. This is a very high quality well made piece and I look forward to the possibility of a coupler from this company. I ordered mine online and had a few email correspondences with Deborah and a phone call and she was very nice and gracious to deal with. I am happy to support people like this.

Thanks for your support and it's good to have you as a customer.
As far as couplers go, I am in the pre-production phase of my revolutionary new tool couplers. (code name: whipkiller):bounce:

We believe there needs to be two main types of air hose couplers.
The first type already exists in abundance.
The other type is optimized for connecting and disconnecting air tools.
I refer to these as tool couplers as opposed to hose couplers.

We have no plans to produce hose couplers.
We will be producing tool couplers.

Looking forward to new products, and replacing my old couplers as needed.

Thanks again for being our first real customer.
I'm confident you'll love our new tool couplers when we start selling them.
I designed them to stand up to a lot of vibration both axial, radial and rotational and not get loose or leak.
They will also be easy to connect and disconnect which I find to be not common among push to connect couplers.
I wish I could mention some of the other cool features but I have to wait.

I should add that our new tool couplers will initially be available as either industrial (Milton M style) or industrial high flow (Milton V style).
I would have to compromise the design too much to make a coupler that accepts multiple styles. Leak tightness is the major reason.
They will also be extremely small and light since low mass is important when the user has to carry it and move it around.

Don't you mean you need to order a couple of the Stedlin Orbitals?

Unlike swivels they actually function at the rated pressure.:)
And not only do they swivel but they pivot up to 160 degrees. Freely I might add.

Based on feedback from one of our beta sites (auto transmission repair facility) I have designed several products that are specific to impact type air tools.
We are already very excited about the potential of these products and hope to get them in production soon.

Yesterday morning I visited the auto transmission shop that is testing our products. I hadn't been there myself previously. One of the first things I asked the owner was what the shop air pressure was. His response was "200 to 250 PSI".:lol_hitti
I assumed he was mistaken so I didn't pursue the matter.
Today I am going to send someone over there with a pressure gauge and have him monitor it.
