I picked up this Bosch laser level/ laser measure last weekend at Lowes for half off. I'm not overly impressed with it but it will be nice to add to the tool collection.

I picked it up as well! I think mine was about $22. I really like the measuring tool. I tried to use the level for installing curtains rods. After two sets I'm not sure how helpful it is for that, but I'm sure I'll find other uses.

After my experience with a non-price matching SOB at one store I decided to do a little investigating and called 3 other stores and spoke to the managers. Saved myself a little driving around. All 3 of them also declined to so any price matching and one even scoffed at me and insinuated I was a reseller.

My plan to hit the good stores on the way home from work didn't work out. Hit the crappy local store. Not alot new but while the associate at the electrical desk was helping me I noticed he had a printout of new markdowns about 5 pages long on the desk. When see saw me looking at it he quickly removed it from view.

I swear they have a racket going between the employees when new stuff is marked down. Last week there were about 4-5 of the Hitachi Sanders piled on a shelf with no price tag, still rang up full price though, gone the next day.

Resellers seem to always hit early in the morning since the computer system usually drops prices overnight.

I'm lucky both of my stores employ a lot of older people, especially in the tools section. So they are not only usually quite helpful, they also don't seem to care to hoard deals for themselves...

Speaking of older nice guys, I heard a female employee rip an older guy a new A-hole cause he didn't stop a customer from taking all 7 of some item . . . poor guy "well he was a customer?" "should I have broke his arm?"
She was hot, screaming "I'm a customer too"
Wish I was good with my cell, video would have gone viral.

As for price matching, my experience is this: if you go to the service desk or to the Store Manager, there will be a resolute “NO” to matching clearance prices. It’s the company policy and the higher up the authority chain you go, the louder the NO gets.

To have a shot at matching, first, you must be there IN PERSON, and approaching the lowest management level you can find. Go to the dept where the item is, talk to the person in that area, in fact *avoid* the manager types in the vests. Ask the floor guy and he’ll say ‘I dunno’ and then as trained, he will summon HIS manager.
THAT guy is your best shot. He’s high enough to authorize the price and low enough that he won’t catch heat about it.
If it gets escalated to CS then it’ll get stopped.
If that didn’t work, go back a few hours later and try again with a different floor guy.
This has worked for me.

Found a pallet full of these today while quickly browsing on my way to what I needed. Hope to see it drop more, I really need a miter saw. Wanted a 10” slider and I don’t really care about the stand but for the right deal I’d buy this.

I'm not the type to Lodge formal complaints often, but I think that would have gotten one. I'm all for employees purchasing things, if they're available, and OFF the clock. Until that associate is off the clock, they're NOT a customer.

In order for the employee to stop a customer from buying all of something, there would have to be *in place* a store designated limit. Did she expect the guy to say "You can't buy those"... and the customer would say "why not" and what would she expect the "old guy" to answer?

Most likely, that would be the case but we can argue that it being a great deal, I might be buying for my friends and family as well... or as gifts for later?

In fact, I've personally done that -- if I found something to an awesome deal, I've bought a couple extra for later use or close friends.

For anyone looking at sliding miter saws, Kobalts new compact models are pretty awesome. Dont see anyone talking about them

The Lowe's product page says "This item is no longer available on Lowes.com." I would have inquired with an employee but wasn't in a vehicle capable of hauling one home. How do you guys go about getting pricing and are these items typically discounted? Examples: 844440, 844439, 864095

Go to a cashier that isn't busy (i.e. don't go on the weekend) and ask if they can check the price of a couple items for you. Give them the item #'s for them to punch in the register and there's your answer...

Stopped at two different Lowes locations today. I did see some nice deals on some Husqvarna trimmers, but opted to skip as I'd prefer a Stihl for any 2 cycle items.

I picked up some grub killer and Scott's starter fertilizer for $2/bag, an arbor, and an outdoor fountain.

Wasn't on clearance, but I grabbed a broadcast spreader, but have to o bring it back as it was missing all the hardware to put it together and i don't want to source my own hardware for a $100 Scott's spreader.

If I see an item at Lowes without pricing, I print off the UPC barcode of the item from Brickseek (or generate it on a smart device), and scan that barcode at the Lowes self-checkout for the actual store price.

I wish Lowes had a price check, like Home Depot does. The Lowes actual store price can vary greatly from the Lowes online price for the same store.

I have been through my local so much lately and it is so aggravating that I’m about to give up on it. It’s as though my local is “not a participating location”.
I’ve gotten some few deals, by buying from other Lowes or spending two hours trolling the whole store or by sometimes successfully achieving a price match.
Virtually NOTHING of significance is marked down here.
The Bosch Laser kit, LED floods.,, about it.
So frustrating

If you use a miter saw much, don’t buy a 10” non slider. I had one for many years and it is very annoying as it won’t even cut all the way through a 4x4 without a second cut. Stepped up to a 12” slider when HD clearance them for $250.

It’s against policy at both Lowe’s and HD, yet it’s rampant in both companies, and management is well aware of it. There’s no way they can miss freezers, fridges, 52” tool chests, and pressure washers lined up in the employee break area. I’ve seen that, and more, over the years.

really most retailers. if you aren't clocked out, they are essentially paying you to shop & not work, which is time theft. most will allow snacks to be bought for break if you don't clock out, but that's about it.


What is the typical amount of days Lowe's holds an online pick-up order? 14, 30 I'm hoping. I usually pickup quickly, but missed getting to a little out of the way location.
