Are these meters any good? This Klein meter looks similar for a couple bucks more.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-T...o-Ranging-Digital-Clamp-Meter-CL310/207144577

Looks like Craftsman multimeters are provided by Extech, which are actually manufactured by CEM Instruments. Generally well-regarded, aside from those who think anything less than Fluke won't do.

And the manufacturer for Klein meters is UEI. They have an outdated website that some browsers can't load, and there seems to be more dissatisfaction with their products, FWIW. Klein had to do a recall on some of their UEI-made meters a few years ago, and a number of professionals seem to think Klein should have stuck to hand tools.

record low:

5 mini pliers set $12.84
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-5-pc-mini-pliers-set/p-00945671000P

May need to act quickly. the 3 mini pliers set was $5.83 a minuet ago now back to $9.99

I definitely recommend the red 5pc set. It comes with a nice zippered case. The red 3pc set, and the green 6pc set, don't. I did wrap cable-tie velcro around a couple of the spring-loaded pliers' handles that kept wanting to pop open out of the foam insert.

Some BF prices are available online today, but prices are varying for shipping and store pickup options. I'm assuming the in-store early BF event (4-9PM today) will have correct BF prices.

For example: Shipping to home, you get BF $59.99 price. However, for store pickup the price is $69.99.

Craftsman Garage Glider Rolling Tool Chest Seat

You can apply a Retailmenot coupon, but that drops the subtotal to below the $59 minimum for free S&H.

Just to temper expectations, these are not great quality mini pliers. They are bulky at the grabbing and cutting ends, so "mini" is probably an accurate description, versus "precision" which these are not. And the handles are cheap feeling plastic with mating seams you can feel. I have some older Craftsman mini pliers made in the US, Japan, and France, which are much better in every way.

However, at $2 each, it's no question how good a deal these are. For the older, nicer Craftsman mini pliers, you're talking $10-$15 or more per plier on eBay. If you get really lucky, maybe you'll get one for $7. Even then, that's over 3x more than this deal.

Also, in case you miss the deal on the set, a few of these are also on sale individually for $2.05 each.

Someone was wondering how to tell which sale items are considered the 'doorbusters' that are excluded from some offers. I just came across an example of one. It says "DOORBUSTER" in red on the product page, instead of "Hot Buy".
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-100-piece-accessory-kit/p-00931639000P
The 'early access' to the doorbuster prices online will end at midnight CT tonight, until they make them available again on Thanksgiving/Black Friday.

I think someone earlier said that they have a hard time chatting with CS... well.. I am feeling like **** this morning so I stayed at home and happened to see I can get a pricematch for $3 for this screwdriver. Let me just say that I never have problem before, and like everyone here, I have done a tons of these. The CS is usually very nice and efficient. A few min chat, and I am done. Maybe it is true we need to do this late at night because they are tired and do not care anymore lol.

I never done this in the AM but I got nothing to do, and do not feel like doing anything except sitting in front of my workstation. First I was told my points will be returned 7-10 days. I asked why because usually it is returned immediately. He challenge me to show the policy where it says that. WTF.... I said well usually it is returned immediately. Did the policy change recently? I mentioned that in my record I have done this before. I asked if he would his supervisor? He immediately said he did. So I asked show me your policy so I can see it (several time) and finally he said it is internal... doh... He never introduce himself like usually the chat start, so I asked his name and he gave his name and his ID ended with "!" :lol_hitti

That was probably not a fun chat for him but I was laughing so hard I almost spray my coffee into my keyboard. Good free entertainment for a few min while I am alone at home.

Just fyi because I know we all will be pricematching often in the next few days as the prices go up and down.

EDIT - I am liking the new look for breaker bar set... I never did bought it, so maybe now is the time to get them...

I need a $9.01 filler, but luckily the "madness" low prices are still around.

Dang, I like that smooth-finish style better than the old ones, but I already bought the old ones in August.

They got lazy and copied the description from the old set.

I can't find much that I need, so I may get this set and give away the older ones.

I've been told 7-10 days several times. I usually responded similarly, to get an also similar response. I did get various reasons, such as once the item is processing, you have to wait for it to get picked up or delivered before points can be adjusted. Sometimes I've told them to cancel the original order and re-place it, and they end up fixing the original order.

I don't know what shift is preferable over there for happier moods, but you are chatting to Asian countries. Maybe the have multiple chat hubs, but 2 reps confirmed this.

It depends on the refund method.

Method 1: Apply the refund using software, which will allow it to determine factors such as which payment methods were used. If you paid with some expired freecash, then the software will not refund that amount.

Method 2: The customer service agent manually calculates the difference in price, and applies it directly. With this method, an agent will immediately refund expired freecash as regular points.

If I owned the business, I would require method 1 be used. However, as a customer I love method 2. :D

Also, a note about Thanksgiving:

Price Protection Policy

Buy with confidence from Sears. If an item you have purchased from Sears goes on sale for a lower price within 30 days of your purchase, Sears will refund the difference. All Price Match rules and exclusions apply including no Price Protection adjustments between Thanksgiving Day and the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. Sears will not offer a price adjustment on items that include individual Shop Your Way bonus or extra point offers.

I think when we chat outside of US daytime hours, we may tend to get the better/better-mood reps more often because that is their daytime. The chat service is provided by 247.ai, with reps located in India and the Philippines. Chatting at noon CT in the US is more like midnight over in India, and 2am in the Philippines. ;)

Actually now that I am thinking about this, and your point that they are being in Asia, late evening for us is generally morning for them so they probably are in better mood as they start their shift. I am just guessing here...

I think I had this "it takes 7-10 days processing to get your points" a way while back, and iirc my points were never returned so I have to chat again. On any other day, I just quit and try again later, but I had time and was bored lol

It is just weird that now they do this. As they have this crazy sale, I am sure they are getting more pricematch requests, so it seems to me they want to just deal with it quickly, get it done, move on to the next customer in line instead of debating with me over their policy and waste their time.

Also not to mention getting potential customers upset over small amount right before the upcoming major shopping period. But they probably do not care since they won't stay afloat that long.

I wonder if there are multiple customer service center locations. Perhaps the dayshift and nightshift centers are different. :headscrat

Maybe one has outdated hardware, software, and policy manuals.

Assuming the newer models are as good as the older models, these shovels are well made. Those are great prices.

My USA shovel had seen a lot and held up great. For those prices I will give one of each a shot.

How did you get that coupon to work, says it does not apply to that item when you try to use it? Sears coupons exclude hot buys and apparently doorbusters.

Which coupon did you try?

I didn't see a 'Hot Buy' tag, so I simply started trying coupon codes in the cart. The only problem I had was my free S&H disappearing, due to dipping below $59.00.

As for the 'Doorbuster' tag, I don't have any coupons that list that as an exclusion. :dunno:

Is anyone getting the $50 cashback in SYW points to show in the cart or at checkout? Says it will be active at 4 PM central but is not working for me.

I just got back from my store. I was thinking about getting that and the wide-capacity pliers ($30, on sale for an unprecedented $13.69) to use my $15 in-store-only offer. That didn't work out, for reasons I'll explain next, but first I wanted to say that in spite of the universally favorable reviews (the only 1-star review is from some silly person who clearly meant 5-stars) on that digger (short-handled mattock), it didn't look as nice in-person as on the website.

Very visibly uneven castings on the heads (one with about a quarter-inch divot in the thinnest part where it wraps around the shaft), one had stress marks and scrapes on the fiberglass shaft near the head like they had trouble getting it on, and the other ones had scrape marks all up and down the handle. Made in India, which is usually worse than China. (The only tool from India I've been impressed with so far is the micro flush cutters from Harbor Freight, for cutting zip ties.) HF has a similar mattock that is hopefully not as disappointing-looking in person, but it does cost twice as much as this Sears sale price, so I was going to give the Sears one a shot anyway, after picking out the one with the least-uneven-looking head.

Buuut the unpleasant people on duty at my store this evening refused to price-match the Sears website, one BS excuse after another, first time in probably a year and a half that I haven't gotten a price-match when I asked for it (regardless of whether the website says "online only"), since they had decided they wanted people buying in-store as much as possible. Apparently they don't care anymore. So I put both of those back and was about to leave in disgust, but then I saw something on an unadvertised in-store-only sale that had been on my wish list.

Craftsman 3pc Door Trim Tool Kit
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3pc-door-trim-took-kit/p-00949290000P
$10.99 in-store-only sale Nov 4 to Dec 1; $18.31 previous-best-seen-sale, $24.99 regularly

And to get over the $15 total I needed, I added the bottle opener that looks like a wrench - been wanting to pick one up eventually, and it turned out to be on sale in-store all month for the same price as the website (and until today when the website price dropped from $6.99 to $5.99, it was even beating the website price... but with the ridiculous way Sears runs things, there was no way to know without wandering through the store).

Craftsman Cap Wrench Bottle Opener
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-cap-wrench-bottle-opener/p-A011714711
$5.99 sale, $14.99 regularly

So at least I didn't leave empty-handed, got the $15 out of the way, and a different cashier opened another register right before it was my turn to check out so I didn't have to talk to the rude ones again.

Another item on an in-store-only sale that I spotted, didn't work out for my combination but could be a good filler for someone else:

Craftsman 4oz Cutting Fluid
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-4-oz-general-purpose-cutting-fluid/p-00952329000P
~$2.79 (it was somewhere in the upper $2s) in-store-only sale Nov 4 to Dec 1,
$4.00 previous-best-seen-sale (though I haven't watched it that closely),
$4.99 regularly

For the record, if you have less-unpleasant people running the registers at your local stores, the actual policy on price-matching the website is supposed to be that they can't do it from this Thursday (Thanksgiving) through the following Wednesday. There were several reports of people at other stores being able to get price-matches in-store during this big online sale.

Oh, and one more thing, I saw someone buying one of those rolling seats with storage that some of you have been eyeing - during the first 20 minutes of the doorbuster preview event this evening. I didn't see how many they had in stock, but it seems like it's going to be a big seller, so you might want to buy yours sooner rather than later if possible.

OK.
I just looked at the ad again and it says Thursday and Friday only @ select Sears stores for that deal.

I overlooked the select stores wording. In prior years, though, BF points back offers did work during the preview.
