Picked up the new IR W7152 kit after putting in an order a month ago. Been over a month without an impact wrench after selling my previous generation of this and my IR pneumatic version.

Any real world comparison between this one and the Milwaukee high torque 1/2" gun? I know on paper the numbers are similar-ish, but that doesn't always tell the full story.

I've been wanting to buy a cordless impact. I have some Milwaukee cordless tools already and two batteries, which pushes me to keep buying Milwaukee. On the other hand, the cordless tools I have (including the batteries) have seen better days because they spent most of their lives used in daily automotive repair, which makes me feel it's okay to go buy another brand.

I scooped up these brand new USA craftsman 3/8” 12 point metrics at the local habitat for humanity restore for only 12 bucks.
Most of my stuff at work is snapon/sk but I don’t have a set of deep 12 point sockets so for 12 bucks what the heck

I’m not sure what these would cost new back in the day, but someone has a set on eBay for 80 bucks or so

^ that's a good deal.
I was eyeballing some of the older Craftsman stuff at my dad's place this weekend thinking I should "obtain" some of it haha.

I have the 6 point version of that set and the matching SAE set. IIRC, $19.99 for them in the mid 90s.

They had SAE 12 points there, too.. But I passed on them. I have 12 point deeps in Mac/proto/random brands already

Your purchase really got me curious about the stubby impact. I was at the local Farm and Fleet and they had one on display. Ohh man...that felt sweet in my hand. Paired with those tiny impact sockets...that would be a killer little tool for assembly and disassembly purposes.

Problem is that I am a Bosch man myself, but so I am torn as to what to do. Dare I venture into another cordless tool platform? I already have a mix of Dewalt, Milwaukee, Craftsman, and Bosch corded tools, but right not I only have (2) Bosch 18V corded tools. I will admit I am a little envious of the offerings from Milwaukee, but so far my Bosch Drill/Impact Driver combo has treated me really well.

I feel for you. I was a Craftsman man myself. With the condition of Sears, especially in Canada, and dead batteries in my 10 year old 16.8 Volt drills a change was necessary. The M12 impact driver sold me.

speaking of Xcelite - picked this screwdriver up today along with the magnet. Cash only, total of 8 bucks.
I had never been to this store before, they have been in the same location since 1959 and the owner has been in business since 1947. Lots of history!

Nice score! I have that same little green Xcelite pocket screwdriver in my "to-go box". I use it all the time for terminal strips and trim-pots. I like how the blade is straight, and not coffin-shaped like many small screwdrivers.

Couldnt help myself from picking up a 3/8 Milwaukee ratchet and an extra battery from Home Depot. All my other stuff is Dewalt, maybe this will convert me from yellow to red.

Today's postwoman dropped off a proto 5250p big dawg ratchet. 3/8 drive 10". Not sure when they discontinued this model but the handles are my favorite. The bulk in the handle fills your hand and is comfortable. The knurling is the soft gripping type smooth and soft but lots of grip. I missed a auction for a 1/4" set with a big dawg ratchet Nos, kid was having a moment (fit) would have been about 70$. This 5250p was 25$ Nos.

Next is a 6" 706s proto adjustable wrench. 12$ not much excitement here. IMG_20181119_133343.jpgIMG_20181119_133412.jpegIMG_20181119_133532.jpgIMG_20181119_133543.jpg

Oh a 3/8 in a 1/4 body. I was thinking of doing that. I picked up a 1/4 a few weeks ago and was cruising the truck for another when I spotted the 3/8. Maybe in the future.

WTF is THAT for? Does anyone here actually USE the tools that they buy? Or is it just another piece of overpriced chrome to grace a toolbox?

How other people spend their money really seems to bother you. You can rotate the flex head and use the ratchet as speed handle. I don't own any, but different strokes for different folks. Notice how the handle is separate from the shank/neck of the ratchet?

Just went and picked up this bad boy today. It's the power feed model, so I turn it on, and it drills its own holes. Can't wait to test it out tomorrow. 8feceef2571a2b6af099d5b7cf9dba83.jpg

Asked my driver about one today, he could not get the part number to come up, nor can I find it on the Snap On website. Is this a custom or can it be bought?

It’s not custom. It shows up if you change the tab to repair parts I think; can’t buy it though. This is how the 1/4 version showed up initially, now you can find and buy the 1/4 version.

You obviously don't own any dual 80's...once you use one ,you will never buy anything else.End of story.

GuardAir 73SK Safety Cone Air Gun

GuardAir airgun that blows an additional "safety cone" around the workpiece that helps deflects blowback particles. I got it because my ancient Devilbiss is going to another workshop along with my older compressor, and I needed something as useful in my garage.
View media item 88472If I had read the details here I probably would have passed, but now that I've tried it I'm not letting go of it:
https://guardair.com/products/jet-guard-safety-air-gun-74sk
Yeah... 35CFM and recommended 7.8HP.

When I first tried it the kickback took me by surprise, the world was full of dust blown off the far side garage wall, and my formerly full 60gal/3.5HP kicked on to recharge 2 seconds later. Ha!

Fortunately one can dial it down. I found my useful range to be between about 0 and 5%... yuk yuk yuk. But it really works (yes, it even really blows!) and the safety cone does keep carp from blowing back onto the operator.

I did the survey thing for the free knife... these folks have no concept that anyone besides heavy industry might buy their products. We'll see if a knife actually arrives, since I didn't give a real company address... since it wasn't bought for a company!
