Went to install horn button last night and found steering shaft too long. Just took sawzall and cut off end.

Light wiring done. Had NOS assy for right rear. Have NOS lens for Left but no assy.

Few more steps to go.

Throttle cable

Left cab corner and bedside molding

Full clean detail right after sand n buff.

Finish wiring underdash

GV OD wiring in cab.

Polish Wheels

Polish inside door panel Aluminum trim

Paint & install door access covers.

Paint sun visor brackets. Clean original sun visors. Install

Touch up polish inside box

Left taillight

A lot of engine tuning

Prob more but the basics.

Strikers
Latches
Handle
Rods
Adjust all
Gate rubber stops
Actually poor tailgate fitment but nothing can be done. A super wide opening.

Honestly, your truck looks too good to put on the road. You might consider wrapping it with bubble wrap before doing so.Beautiful truck!

I thought the rear bumper on my 66 was actually a 73 - 79, but there was enough slop in the bolts and brackets that I was able to get it to fit. Is there that much difference between the two? Maybe I've had the right one all along.

I am not sure about the bumper brackets but a 1973-1979 F100-F150-F250 frame is 4" wider than a 1965-1972. The exception is a 1973-1977 1/2 F250 4x4 "Highboy" which maintained the earlier "narrow" frame width. The "narrow" frame is 34" wide, pretty much all the way from front to back. Starting in 1973 the F100's and 2wd F250's became 38" wide in back while staying 34" in front.

Yeah I like them a lot! It was only Wheel in 18” to clear the large brakes that looked right for me.

Thanks! Much better this way. Having it more done than just driving. I did push myself to well beyond what I thought were my limits & did get a bunch more done than typical so all is good.

It’s quite possible I may actually get to test drive it tomorrow! Still a lot to do before I go to first show for 1st time reveal.

Two HUGE humps in road were overcome in last few days. Getting throttle working and getting the custom engineered sway bar installed.

Lots of thinkin’ and fab work but it finally “clicked “ what I should do.









Started swaybar install this morning and just finished! Tighten it all up now and it’s done.

Sure hope it has Major impact on how a twin I Beam truck handles.

It’s really been quite the deal trying to do everything under the old shade tree!

Always learn a lot in each one but then try to make the next one better each time is getting more and more difficult!

Not really “Good” at any one thing but somehow manage to get it all back together painted & running.

Still haven’t gotten that first drive down the road but it could happen tomorrow!

If I can stay awake for another 2 hrs yet....
Maybe I can Make the Turkey roll over in the pot... tomorrow.

Would love to do a book but not sure when.
(A Publisher has asked if I was interested)

Ha! For a guy who “flunked” English in high school now wouldn’t that be something!

Wife n daughters are brilliant but not so sure they would want to be involved to help. I do better in shop doing grunt work than anything related to paperwork or writing. My Organization skills have not hit pre-School stage quite yet.

One look around the shop would prove that.

I still have not figured out how to edit video for my YouTube channel.

Now that truck is all together I can finally get a weight.

How about some guesses?

Added quite a bit with the Overdrive, bigger brakes, axles, huge sway bar, much much larger tire/wheel combo.

Guess total weight and front rear bias.

Actually my original goal was 3650 lb before Overdrive, big brakes, tire/wheel and swaybar so if it’s under 3850 that will be ok. Eco1 was 4200 gotta be a bunch less than that.

Hoping Eco2 is under 3750 and it’s a F250

3831 lb 100% complete!
Prob around 7-8 gallons of fuel in it. All other fluids topped off.

Hi Bill! Long time no hear from!

I was able to take a just under 3 mile test drive and it was Fantastic! Instead of being happy I think there may have been a few tears instead.

What a great feeling after a 40+ year wait to be able to drive it down the road (less brake or turn signals) It started off going around the block in my neighborhood then down the road nearby just to make sure my first automatic transmission rebuild actually worked.

Simply do not know what to say at this point.

Last night I dreamed I drove it then parked it and someone distracted me and when I went back to look for it it was gone! Now to this am I still dreaming?

Uploading a 5 min video to YouTube now & will post a few pics.

My knees are knocking yet but it did Restart the Heart!

And yes the Sway Bar makes it drive as good or better than Eco1.

Without question this trumps Eco1 as my all time favorite and I have only gone a few miles.

What a Thanksgiving to remember!

All 3 of my daughters will be home for Christmas this year. Usually a rough time of year for me but things are looking UP!

A lot of meaning for me as my Dad was Born Thanksgiving Day 99 yrs ago.
He died just short of his 70th Birthday. What I would not do to take him for a drive.

It was October 10th 1965 When he pulled into the driveway with the brand new 1966 F100. Oh the memories & how they flood back.

Has not really sunk in yet how close it really is. Maybe once all the trim is on and I get in that 26 mile loop I always do on the 1st longer test drive.

This drive I did not try out the GV OD as a few more wires to connect.

Also did not have tachometer wired, no brake or turn lights.

Hoping in next week or by December 1st for the Scottsdale Cars n Coffee I will have it more completed.

Tidy up the wiring (its now test drive mode wiring) Get the door panel trim buffed and installed and rest of interior buttoned up.

It will feel a bit weird having Blue~Tooth in such a stockish looking interior.
