Recieved a little set of Vampire screw extraction pliers...kinda cool. A friend from Japan, where they are made, brought them to me.

Never seen Gedore's with red handles. They are great pliers though, rival Knipex.

I checked the listing again and all the way at the bottom of the text wall it says "red dipped handle..." even though the picture shows blue.

Couple of arrivals today. Somewhat disappointed in the gedore pliers having a red grip as opposed to the blue in the ad. I had intended for them to have some distinction from the ubiquitous red tools that my box is already loaded with....

Sounds like you ordered them from Amazon. The exact same thing happened to me! Ordered them, then noticed after I received them that the description said red handles.

Then a few months later, I ordered some Gedore cable shears, and they also came with red handles. I actually don't mind quite as much in the shears, as they're made by Rennsteig, same as Knipex (since Knipex owns Rennsteig), which means the blend in well with the rest of the Knipex pliers and cutters.

Yep. Ordered from Amazon. Not sure why they'd specifically manufacture them in different colors for different retailers.

The red handles I believe are just new old stock from before Gedore switched to textured blue handles.

Gedore has changed the name of Carolus (its line of simple tools, DIY) to Gedore Red, that may be why they are red.
It's just my opinion, aver if someone who is sure can confirm it.

That's true, and this change was much more recent, as it happened earlier this year. The Gedore Red line is cheaper and mostly imported, not made in Germany and Austria.

Thankfully that's not what happening here. The Gedore Red line doesn't include this style of cable shears that I'm aware of. At least I couldn't find any in the Gedore Red product catalogue or online. And the combination pliers are identical to the blue handled version, except for the color and texture of the plastic. They even include the "Made in Austria" stamp.

Thanks, quality seems very nice. Not a pro airbrusher at all, learning hobbyist at best. But a pro friend of mine suggested that I get a good quality from the start and its all much easier and more satisfying. Just like with most tool related stuff.

Yes, Neji-Saurus is the original and I think they also make the Vampliers.

I do have 2 Neji-Saurus pliers and they are very good. Have already saved lots of time removing some stripped screws with them. Much easier than with other tools. Bought them from ebay and shipped direct from Japan.

Couldn’t agree more especially when it comes to anything paint related. I find most painting projects to be tedious with a lot of attention to detail in order to get the outcome you are after. A friend of mine air brushes on a semi professional level and he said the exact same thing that you often find is true with most tools, invest the money in something quality and you can spend your time enjoying the use of said tool instead of fighting it and hating the job.

Picked these up from Amazon with a Xmas gift card for my fuel 3/8 stubby and ratchet. Reading about and seeing pics of them really don't do justice as to just how small these things really are!

I've been debating picking up some of those. Reviews I've seen here seem mixed.

Picked up a wire wheel for the smaller bench grinder and a pair of Stanley 8" needle nose pliers. They are on sale for $5.99 with a $5 mail in rebate. So they become a 99 cent Chinese Stanley needle nose pliers.

Some new goodies. Picked up this Coast light on an Amazon price drop. I think I paid $32. Very awesome kit with three batteries and a ton of accessories. (various clips, chargers, etc)

Been lusting for this polisher for a while. Finally bit the bullet during an ebay 15% off coupon. I paid roughly $110 shipped.

Last but not least, this was the second Milwaukee gift I got this year. (Hell yeah!) The first was the new m18 fuel jigsaw that I posted earlier this month. I must've been on the nice list this year. :)

Titan 1106 1/4 drive swivel head. In the package it felt dry and rough with a longer swing than the 72t should be.

Opened it up and it just had a touch of oil on the internals. Cleaned that off and lubricated it with some Slickoleum (a light grease used on suspension fork seals). Felt 100 times better with the light grease in it and now feels silky smooth. IMG_20190101_143226.jpegIMG_20190101_143239.jpeg

Mail call today, took advantage of the eBay 15% from the other day, shipped to the house for $28.5. glad I found all the recommends on here for this little guy, it’s gonna get a lot of work in my shop. Drive feels very smooth with not much back drag at all.
