I finally got a chance to do some more work on the rotisserie. I made and installed my arbor locks. Came out pretty good. Got some color on the mounting arms too. Next is to disassemble and start to paint the entire assembly grey then reassemble and put to use.

Excellent! - I like how you grooved the locking tab to create a detent.

A friend requested a coffee table base. He has a 28" wood top he made and wanted a tree design base. This is what he decided on. It holds my 185 pound just fine.

I like it! Will it just rest on the metal rods? or going to make any type of feet pads?

Thank you !
I'm gonna see what customer prefers. If on carpet great as is, all arms / roots are flat. If hardwood maybe felt pads. I was debating on a flat frame for the arms to rest on and add felt pads to bottom. Like 1" wide or wider flatstock.
I'm dropping for Friday.

Stainless steel flower I made for my lady friend. I can see a lot of room for improvement. But I have a lot of time, one of our "songs" is Stan Roger's 45 Years and we have 42 to go. LOL

Made a frog for the wife tonight. I still need to balance it on a stick with a counter weight and it will go in the yard.d41fa8c6b0be861ec9fdc690f80c4ea3.jpg

That turned out slick. I do silverware artwork and use ball bearings for eyes on dragon flies. I drill holes where I want the eyes and plug weld on the backside. It gives it a cleaner look.

Finally found some time to get my grinder racks finished and put up on my welding table. Painted one but got inpatient on the second one may take it off and paint it later but at least it’s finally done and functional e01e612341ead1305c222b40229066fb.jpg4fd4d8eb33a916f22b8e1b34710dff7a.jpg

Looks like the color you used for your grinder holders is the same as the color I used for my rotisserie... Tremclad grey.

I have one side done... Just have to disassemble and paint the other side now.

Looking good six. I don't have a picture but my original grinder rack was made from a 4ft long piece of 4" x 1/8" bar with Vs cut into it. But what I thought was trick is I also constructed a 6" tall, 4" deep box the full length that I used expanded metal for the bottom and sides. That way I could just lay in the cords and not deal with winding them up.

That rotisserie is exactly what I need to be building!!
Is a set of plans available for that rotisserie ?

Quick and dirty ztfab styled welding toolbox. Actually it looks pretty decent. I have to tig weld all of the perimeter joints and make a tank mount. All hail the almighty plasma cutter.

I like it! On mine, I just welded a piece of 1"x1/8" flat stock across the legs, and the grinders hook onto it. I loosely loop the cords over whatever disc is on them. Not having it notched allows me to slide the grinders over and lets me clip my tape measures on.

That rack does look good and I like Cam’s idea of offsetting it with expanded metal as it would make a nice freestanding shelf that could be wall mounted as well. Placing those ideas in the mental archive! Oh and copying the picture as the old memory isn’t what it used to be....

Finished up my frog and decided to make another one. I used what I learned on the first one to really clean up the look and hide the welds.

Wow, what a difference plugwelds makes.
I use HF buffer on my silverware art. Cheap and does a nice job.

Those racks are nice but I would be concerned with all the spatter and metal filings falling into the grinders cooling fins, maybe if it was up under the table a bit further.

I built a roller base for my 9"x42" vertical knee mill. Each caster is rated for 1100 lbs each and its still a bit of a bear to the 2200 lb machine moving but once its rolling its not bad to move.

What are the two tabs on the front for? 'Pry bar' feet?

I wondering the same as for I want to build something similar when I get a milling machine.i know it’s gonna be a heavy ***** but I also want it level and plumb when in place but movable annually to clean around it.

Looks like they have holes in them so that may be what’s intended for them. That is a slick setup.

Handrails I made for the house. I had to put the ******** the bottom to cover the existing holes that I should have plugged when I refinished the steps. The smaller posts threw the layout off.

That welding table is extremely similar to mine. Looks great. Be careful pounding on the vise with it only being supported by the plate. I don't see a tube underneath it. The plate will start bending down.

My wife wanted a shelf to install a second wine rack. Had to hold the weight of 60 bottles. Asked if I could make that. Any excuse to use the welder! :)

Originally, she wanted it painted wall colour, but she ended up liking the metal so much I just clear coated it.

I coach pole vault for my old high school and the university I am currently getting my masters/teaching credential at. These trainers supposedly work really well, but they're nearly $500...

Couple of hours in the shop this morning and some scrap pieces to make my own version. Longest part was using the hole saw to cut through the plate for the hooks. Just need to get a pool noodle or conduit insulation for padding.

Oh my gosh! I love this thread! I wanted to comment on all these cool projects but it would take to long so I'm just lumping them all together, such cool and awesome ideas and great execution on all of them, I'm sure I will be stealing some of these ideas! I just hope my wife doesn't start reading The Garage Journal

I needed a bin to store my steel scrap. I previously used two 55 gallon drums and stored it in the back shed but we now store a car in the shed so my scrap storage got evicted. I wanted to keep the scrap inside and out of sight to keep the property looking neat. So I built this bin 32” square by 24” deep which converts close to the same volume as 2 steel drums, but takes up less room. The bin is made of 1/8” steel and I bent a lip in the top edge to help reinforce it from bending from abuse.IMG_0270.jpg
