So I've had this Masterforce (Wilton rebrand) for a little over 2 years now.

It has it's positives, but on the whole I can't recommend it.
First the good.
The fucker is big and cheap. It can be had for only $89 doll hairs from the Menards right now:

It opens up real wide, here it is next to a little 4.5" chinesium Craftyman:

And even wider still if you swap the dynamic jaw around:

Second, the swivel base locks down nice and tight. No problems there.
So it's useful for holding big ****, and it's cheap...now for the downsides.
1. The static jaw does not overhand the work surface. This means if you're clamping something long in the vise, you can't clamp it straight up and down, because the workbench is in the way. The static jaw should be an inch or so out away from the work top so long items can be clamped properly.
2. All show, no go. If you really crank down on this thing, especially if you put a pipe over the handle, it's gonna **** the screw. Mine is gritty and has some issues already with only light, occassional use. To quote AvE, she's not skookum partner.
3. Jaws are not particularly durable, nor are they aligned that great. Plenty of slop and back/forth movement as the dynamic jaw goes in and out.
4. The rubber bumpers for the handle are a great idea, but they're too big and they fucked off right away, never to be seen again.
On the whole, I would recommend this vise as a specialty item for guys who need to hold big **** now and again, but wouldn't recommend as a daily driver, just not strong enough.
