I bought a Dorman window regulator and motor to replace the one that broke in my car (this is apparently a common occurrence.) As for the part, it worked great for 1.5 months until yesterday when the cable jumped a pulley, slackened in the cable spool and the cable got totally screwed up inside the spool mechanism. So, on that front this part *****.

However, I emailed customer service last night requesting a warranty replacement. They got back right away this morning and told to simply email the receipt with the part on there. I did so and within an hour I got a response that the new part was shipping today to my house. Can't complain about the customer service.

Dorman parts: Fail

Dorman cutomer service: Win!

I'll follow up with how quick the part gets to me and how long that one lasts.

You might check to make sure your window track is not bent, worn, or otherwise hanging-up to prevent smooth operation.

The window worked great for a month and a half...smooth and fast up and down. I will double check everything this time (I did the first time too). I think that the cable jumped the pulley, created some slack and got bound up in the spool somehow. The pulley has what looks like a feature that automatically re-mounts the cable if it jumps off, but it did not work apparently.
