Someone asked earlier how you find these deals-

First, I want to thank you for sharing your finds
Second, the only way I've found deals is by looking (via Lowes, not brickseek) to see if they have the item on clearance or if a different location still has shipping on a clearance item. I believe it's their policy is to remove shipping on clearance items.

So that's the real answer.
Lots of legwork and some luck.
And usually in my case since my local stores almost never clear out items, lots of patience. Waiting and hoping a reseller doesn't scoup up everything for their business.

Ha, that's not the answer they want. They want the price checking script answer.

Yes, for me its a combination of BS and brute force. It's ten percent luck, twenty percent skill, fifteen percent concentrated power of will
, five percent pleasure, and fifty percent pain.

Happened to me today with a bunch of those Channellock 4-piece set for $6. Was all set to pick them up, and got a call saying they now can't find them..... i straight up asked them if someone just hid them for themselves and they said "no we have been looking for them for a week and they are a non stock item":mad::mad:

-The Great

watch your cards for the return money too... it used to never show up unless you asked for it.. especially on giftcards. that was a few yrs ago, i quit shopping there over the time wastes..

looks like they just either sold out of all the t-shirts or fixed a glitch because i just ordered 3 L for pickup and i went back to order some more with free shipping in case they weren't in stock and now every store says 0 with no shipping option lol

EDIT: just got a call from the store saying they diddent have any. When i asked if they had any other sizes he said no, some of the employees had purchased some and the system wasent yet updated FML

Large red shirt still able to ship...

it keeps going on and off, ive refreshed the page and changed stores a few times and it seems they are turning the shipping option on and off lol

i placed like 6 different orders in differing qty's for sweatshirt/black shirt/red shirt with different options of shipping and pickup so we'll see what happens. If the shipping options go through ill just cancel the pickup orders but i doubt they will even get fulfilled.

I’ll be on the look out for a response to this question...no matter how many years it takes to be answered [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

How do you find free shipping on clearance items from stores out of your area? Is it luck by just randomly clicking on different stores or can you use Brickseek (or some other tool) to find the stores that offer free shipping?

If you all are "hazing the newbie", then haha cool I get it but my question was genuine. I don't know what you mean by the price checking script answer or what all the entree/dessert innuendos mean. I asked my question because I wanted to learn to be able to contribute to the thread by posting when I find a zip thats ships free instead of being a burden to the thread by constantly asking if anyone else found a zip with free shipping every time a deal pops up with an item not in stock in my area, like I see others do.

What I have been doing is using Brickseek by inputting zip codes until I find the wanted price then I input that zip into Lowes to see if that store offers shipping. This process is quite manual, which is fine if that is the only way to do it, but I thought I'd see if there was a better way. Someone mentioned recently if Lowes doesn't offer shipping at one OOS store then you won't be able to get free shipping for that particular item at any other store, so that was helpful to know.

Thanks,

fartnoise

That is also not accurate information. Whether an item shows available for shipping for you depends on your location, since in most cases the product is actually shipped from local stores. I've ordered many items that others said were not available for shipping, and have been unable to order some items others said were available for shipping.

If you read through the 2018 Lowes thread and the discussion thread you will find the answers to your questions.

Sorry NO HAZING involved . . . and you're not the first to ask nor was I specifically answering you.
It's really a lot of legwork and word of mouth on this forum. Unfortunately some of the deals here are quickly making their way to major sites (like SD).

Problem with Br*ckseek is that it's worth the cost of premium membership if your in business as a reseller.
If your like the rest of us, trying to get a bargain using Br*ckseek is self defeating cause premium paying members get alerts on what people are looking at. So by time you'd find it, most likely will be gone.

Thanks for the info Red!! That's all I was hoping for in the end...a little bit of general info/tips on searching for free shipping on items OOS in my area so that I could contribute more (Thank you to everyone that has posted deals by the way!!).

I wandered on to this thread thinking that it was a place for tool enthusiasts to help each other get more tools by sharing deals and info on how to find deals. I didn't expect anyone to hold my hand but I guess I was a little idealistic in thinking it would be different from slickdeals in that way. Maybe I'm wrong, but all the double speak, innuendos and comment sniping I've seen in the last couple months makes it seem like there is a just as many resellers in here competing to make money as there are tool enthusiasts trying to catch a break on a new tool. Or maybe the tool enthusiasts aren't trying to give tips because there are resellers on here :/

FWIW, I am not a reseller - just a tool user/enthusiast. In other words, I don't go to any great lengths to score deals because I have more than full-time work to keep me busy. And I can confirm that I have scored many, many thousands of dollars worth of tool savings from this forum. So it is possible - and easy IMO - to get great deals by keeping up with the threads here.

In just the last couple of days there has been a LOT of good deals posted that don't require any sort of insider knowledge to get.

My top tip for casual users is to forget about scoring deals from the comfort of your computer chair. Whenever I see a good deal, I go to the store ASAP and get it in my hands. I don't try ordering for pickup; employees can't be trusted to track down an elusive clearance item, and even when they do, can't be trusted to save it for you instead of buying it himself. Even if the employee is earnest and honest, there is a high likelihood of another customer grabbing the last of a clearance item before the employee picks it for you. Also, you will be surprised with how many store-specific deals you find by just going in and browsing. Good luck.

I grabbed a work sharp sharpener today for $17.50. Lowes website showed OOS and BS was showing NA for my stores. 905946. You are definitely missing out on deals if you aren't looking in store.

Gave it a shot, no workie for me. Now shows OOS (of course it could just be my location in TN and the 1's and 0's don't line up

Agree on that point. I've struck out on the sharpener in my area though. Curious to hear your thoughts on it McT

I don’t know if anyone mentioned it, but my Lowe’s has all books at 50% off (electrical and decks - stuff like that).

They were also starting to clearance trex decking. Right now only $4-6 dollars off per board, but it could save someone a boatload of cash for a deck.

That is what it is supposed to be, but the resellers and flippers have moved it. I think Ryan has given up on trying to enforce the rules, so we have people posting deals without the store location, not posting deals until they receive theirs, etc. The flippers, attitudes, and hazing have driven away many of those who previously posted a lot of deals, or at least driven them underground.

so here's the kick in the teeth. I bought one of these in November for $45 as a Christmas gift. But plans changed and I was going to return it. I didn't even know it was this number, which I had actually checked locally when you posted it. So now I wonder if I return it, will it go back for sale for like $12? I'll buy it back for that. :)

sure, you just bring the receipt, and they will probably do a price adjustment.
