EX, Ok thanks! I need to brush up on my block ID!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Mr. Wonderful nice freshen up on your block!
V nice job!I finished up my 1/2hp. i havent quite decided what its ultimate use is. I will probably go with that multitool sander I've seen on this page. Does anyone know if it is a direct bolt on or require some fabrication????
Im not sure about the other side. Maybe a wire wheel? I have a 3/4hp Baldor for actual grinding. I really only bought this because of the bad infulences on this site. It will get put to use. I committed sacrilege and used a non standard color that another member used way back in the early pages. Its the rustoleum light blue. The cooling tray and eye shields are still getting touched up but I have them.
That's surely a YOU ****!I went to pick up an old metal butcher table from a work friend which still had his stuff all over it. I asked if he cared about any of the stuff, and if he wanted the grinder. Told me to just load it up with the table.
I have so far put on a new DeWalt 8-in wheel and wire wheel. Light bulb housing is loose, but everything works. Been using it along with my Wen Sander to restore old tools and build combat robots.

You're crazy setting that rusty pile of junk on the front seat of your Silverado.Just picked this one up at a storage locker for $30. More of an upgrade than I expected from my newer craftsman model. Twice the power and easily half the vibration.
Also picked up two Disston back saws that I happen to see casually laying off to the side. Was a great day.

1/2 hp pre block complete with light and hd tool rest tray for $30???
Big suckage there. Nice score.
Not even a crack in the glass. I think it would have rode home in my lap.
I'd want to put the belt around that baby! You're crazy setting that rusty pile of junk on the front seat of your Silverado.

Just popped up and I figured a collector may be interested.

If you want to unload some PM to discuss, I'll take any you don't needI picked up 20 of the rubber grommets for $0.10 each. Why did I buy that many? I'm still wondering...

That is a great deal, if the stand is a CI Sears and the quench/cooling tray, eye shields, tool rests, spark arresters are included.I need to follow up on an ad for a 1/3 Hp Model # 397-19580 has the light, owners manual and stand. No pic but states excellent condition for $70.00 texted twice no reply guess I need to call.

Thats how we all started out too...First block grinder (at least I think it is...)
Don't see too many grey pedestals around... let alone doubles.
Seems like they quickly went to the power bronze and then black.
Picked this one up today along with a crusty lathe.

From "sears-craftsman-1959-power" catalogue:Is that double pedestal the same height as a single? Seems like a lathe might need a different stand height than a grinder![]()
From "sears-craftsman-1959-power" catalogue:
Grinder stand, 34" high.

Joiner double pole stand, 31" high.

IIRC, the catalogue(s) are available at OWWM.
Picked up this bad boy for $45 yesterday! All parts are there, with stand. Even got the original wheel the PO had replaced with wire.
