So I have a custom 94 F150 that I have had forever. Straight axle front, custom 5 lug sterling 10.25” rear.
I built some hitch receiver racks this weekend so I can haul 20’ material for future fab project.

Nice work and looks like you are hauling snow this year as well.

Depending on what it is exactly that you are hauling with your new rack, it maybe necessary to have a center support say mounted in your pickup box near the back window of your cab.

What are you going to be carrying???

It looks like he already has a headache rack behind the cab.
Nice looking setup.

Yes, I saw that, but wondered what he was going to carry since other new supports look much beefier.

Yes, I also had that year in an XLT but the automatic, particularly the O/D use to drive me nuts, especially when I had even a little weight on.

Good looking truck and clean looking SAS. I want to get another 92-96 bronco and sas it, but keep it pretty low. I helped build one a few years ago but it had about 11-12 inches of lift over stock and 39”s. It’s a little too high for my needs

It already had a headache rack. I have a bunch of steel hand railing to build at the house.

Nice old truck

What kind of fab work do you do???

I manage a fabrication shop and we do everything from small walk in customers to heavy structural steel. We also have our own ground support equipment line that we design and sell to Boeing for airplane production. Most of my home projects are smaller. I do railing, custom doors and frames, work benches, pretty much anything. I’m attaching some pictures. IMG_7851.jpg IMG_8368.jpgIMG_8106.jpg

May I suggest carrying a moving blanket to throw on the top of your cab when loading? It'd be a shame to scratch up that truck.

So, how did you convert a 10.25 to 5 lug? Is it still a full floater or did you use 9" ends or similar?

A little history. I bought this truck with 12k on it in 95. I changed the rear when I blew the 8.8 up at about 80k miles. 35” tires were just too much for an 8.8.
Then about a year later I was done dinking around with the TTB **** so I built custom radius arms and installed the solid 44. Which is chromoly hub to hub.
I started with 10.25 sterling because it has the speedo ring on the ring gear.
We cut the full floaters off and did the big bearing 9” outers. 35 spline chromoly one piece axles from Dutchman.
I had some really nice super single billet wheels and didn’t want to buy 8 lug stuff.
It’s also got. 1979 Dana 44 straight axle in front. No more independent ****.
It’s soon to have a bronco transfer case with the fixed yoke and double cardon drive shaft.
I sold this truck to a friend about 12 years about and he sold it a few years later. I saw it at a local dealer just before Christmas 2017 and was joking with the friend I sold it to and my wife. So my wife got it back for my Christmas present [emoji320]

I’m a lucky guy

I’ve spent a fair amount of time getting it back into the condition it was in when I sold it.
I’ve got a ways to go though.

Nice rack. I don't know how many times I've seen deals on 20 stock but had no means to move it short of hiring or renting a truck. You think of some kind of similar set up but the deals gone before you can even think of building one or have to cut just to get it home.

in the sliding rear window and out the pass window...

I built a set of hooks on the outside of my wife's horse trailer to haul 20/21' sticks, but not convenient...

I also built a receiver hitch into my front bumper and have stolen a better idea!

I used 2x2x1/4 wall for the stinger and the rest is just 2x2x .09 wall tube.
It works really well
