Maybe I should start a new thread on this but what about hoses? All I ever seem to find are these "super tough non kink" hoses, which are some vynil coated junk that kink more than any other hose, and then crack where they kink
Either that or they are a huge heavy rubber hose that is too heavy. Any happy medium?
I read some people talking up some black rubber Craftsman hose. Sorry, forget the exact details. I snagged one on clearance at the local Sears Hardware which is now gone. I think it is an import. Seems pretty well made. Time will tell.
Yep...I'm a fan of the Craftsman black rubber hoses. Thick, heavy, rarely kink, and have a lifetime warranty. I say rarely kink because I have had them kink before with no water pressure (spigot turned off). With water pressure in the hose, I have not had a kink yet.
I have a 100' hose I picked up for under $30 and a 50' I got for $25 during their 'clearance' sales.
They are not the best hose I've used. For that, I don't know what brand it was, but it was a heavy black hose with 2 yellow lines running down it, with a spring on the house side of it to keep it from kinking at the spigot when pulled on. I drug that hose all over the yard, gravel driveway, around trees, drove over it, etc...for 15+ years before it sprung a leak.
It was longer than the 100' Cman hose too, which I miss because the 100' Cman hose won't reach my truck in front of the garage.
