It’s shoulder height on the wife so it’s pretty tall.

So, the Portland Swapmeet and PIR swap were over the weekend. I know Provincial has mentioned it, but unless you go you can't understand how bid this is. To use the numbers supplied, the first one has approx. 3500 vendors, while the second covers over 5 miles. And this is mainly auto related. There might be something here or there that doesn't fit, but these are our people. I did the first one on Friday, wandering around with Rileysan and running into Mr.X and Smokeshadow. I used a three wheel bicycle on Saturday to cover the track and infield. So, here's what I found on the first day:

I Proto puller I am doing a deal with Rileysan for, P&C Proto and a Snap-on whitworth socket .50 each, Proto LA ratcheting adaptor $10, Armstrong and Proto 1/4 rats $5 each but both are oddities (odd part number for Armstrong, hole through ratchet head for Proto), Brass spokeshave $5, Proto hammer $5 and Klien telephone relay pliers $1.

Here is a shot of the hole in the Proto head.

A pristine set of Williams DOE's for $20 and a Williams torque wrench for $5.
To be cont.
I figured it was for something like that. Thanks, Provincial. That Proto ratchet with the hole is probably for installing Hy-lok rivets. The hole in the drive is for an allen wrench to hold the shank of the rivet from turning.
Link to video of power drive installation.
Nice finds!
Not a whole lot of tools stuff there but I snagged a few things at the last auction I went to.
These 2 vices came in a lot with some fence post tops for $5 total. No markings on the unpainted one so if anyone recognizes it let me know, other is a colombian 63 1/2. Also snagged a tap & die set for $2.50, no brand name on it or other identifiers that I can tell other than made in japan. Figured for $2.50 I'd add it to the collection. No pictures of it but also picked up a Kennedy 520 box for $40. Not a great deal on the box but it's about 1/2 full of taps, dies and other machinist tools so it wasn't a terrible deal.
I have a third similar style, but it's awaiting its resurrection from decay and abuse.

There is a hole about #10 size (might be tapped) in the front of the base an a couple more in the back maybe a bit larger for the one not for the cord. Pretty sure the were factory, but no clue what for.
Yeah. Found a NIB one on eBay a few years back, probably 1960s, with pen rests as part of the base.DFA's looks like some of the Eagles metal gooseneck lamps I've seen. Not sure if i saw outlaw's.

Again SoCal pricing here so they weren't $1 a wrench but other than some minor scratches from being in the wrench roll they don't appear used. I gave $50 for the set. The 1-1/4 is truly massive, check the clothes drier for scale. Not sure why all the USA Husky is showing up right now but no complaints here. Really happy I've finally got a complete USA SAE full polished set to use on my old AMCs.
If anyone needs a missing Husky USA wrench all the finds from my post a few weeks ago are going up for sale since I now have this complete set.![]()

Very nice, Bill! And, it continues my theory that finding V-Blocks in the wild is like shoes in the middle of the road! You never seem to see them in pairs! There's always just one - making you wonder, 'Where is the other shoe/drill block?!'An Eclipse (Made in England) V-Block with two clamps

BUT I did get the clamp from the missing v-block. I got excited at first because I saw two v-blocks next to each other from a distance. They ended up being different sizes and not a matched pair, though.
For my use purposes, the single one is sufficient... but it does make you wonder, where does the other go?
I know most on this thread are more interested in the old and unusual but as someone looking for users and not cabinet queens, that haul for $300 really activates my almonds. Just the specialty kits alone would be a good deal at that price.
I picked this up recently -- does anyone know the approximate age of this piece ? I am thinking either WWII or Cold War era ?

Wall mounting.

Report back on a find from a few weeks ago where I picked up a nice Coleman 242 with the original globe from 1947. Unfortunately the tank was heavily rusted and just shaking the loose crud out a hole opened up in the bottom.
I had a brass fount from a Canadian mod 200 (1961) leftover from another project I went a different way on, and I Frankensteined the two together. the brass fount holds 4 more oz. of fuel, so add at least an hour to the run time.

Outlaw, Nice mod! That is one great looking lantern. I have been looking for one of the brass fount models for a while. I hope to find the coveted seafoam colored one.

Can you get more pics on the vise in pic No. 2? that MAY be a Colton Patent vise, but I need more details to be sure. if it is, and it's as big as it looks, its the biggest one I've seen. How wide are the jaws?
The layout tool intrigues me - a quick web search came up empty. Oddly enough, it looks fairly well used.

I snagged this Bonney roll cab from the local recycling yard today. Straight as an arrow, with key. It baffles the mind to think about why someone would scrap a box like this. Apparently, if I had been a day or two sooner, I could have had the top box as well...
