Lugz, real quick, but they aren't officially a set. Just random angel wrenches I picked up over the years and put to use.

Don, I think I have the rest of that family!

And the step-child

Looks like we’ve been shopping at the same store. Since I officially have a weakness for ignition wrenches, I’m not going to further pollute this thread with that mess. I’ll try to restrict myself to obstruction DOE wrenches.

Is this where it all began?
This is the only one I have like this.
First major series of Cornwell?

Out in the real world, where we don't take the time to engineering evaluations, the rule on angle wrenches is that you can never have too many angles to choose from. It seems like there is always something in the way, no matter what angle you are using. Not only that, but often you can't get on the flats to get started.

30/60 isn't too bad if you have 15* of throw. Remember, standard combos and DOE;s usually have about a 30* angle, so a standard wrench will work in that part of the arc. A hex has the flats spaced 60* apart, and if you can get 15* of throw, that is enough. Often, you cannot get that much throw.

I have been in situations where I used four different wrenches to get the full arc. I actually would have been easier to remove some of the obstructing items, but I didn't want spill hydraulic oil.

Thanks once again Provincial for sharing your experience on the subject.
I never thought I would have much use for angle wrenches, but this morning came up against one of those real world situations just as you mention. A hydraulic pipe connector tucked in to a channel next to another pipe, and I had to spill about a gallon of that nice John Deere hydraulic fluid and disconnect all the other stuff that's been there for 30 years before I could get to it.. A 60 degree offset 1" AF open end would have just got right in there!
I don't have any wrenches to show in this thread, but now feel i may have to get some..

Here are some of the older S-O with one newer style in the mix.

Here is a comparison of the old and new S-O (I've posted these before but it's been a while)

These are some obstruction wrenches but one end is angled similar (some ignition wrenches too) The 1/2" is a Plvmb.:

Apparently so, although I don't know if anyone has ever really run that to ground. The later Cornwell so-called "Improved" angle wrenches had the skinnier shanks, and they were forged, not stamped.

These are some obstruction wrenches...
If we go to true obstruction wrenches with 90* angles I could treble my contribution to the thread! :)

It is my understanding that these early Cornwell wrenches were forged, rather than stamped. Looks forged to me. I have a few of them, mostly DOE style, not angle wrench.

Not sure if it’s a angle wrench or just bent

Snaparxon and Redvise, whatever combination of angles that get the job done counts for me!

I've got a fairly good set of Williams obstruction wrenches handy - just in case I need a 75 deg grip!

These are more of the 90 degree variety. A nice roll of bonney cv and a lone blackhawk armstrong.

Here's my sad contribution to this thread... an empty pouch. I haven't found a single Bonney angle wrench to put in it... yet.

Sometimes the pouch is hardest thing to find! That one looks to be in good shape.

****, that layout means I'm missing 4 pieces, not just one!
Still looking for a 9/16.... and now the three larger than 1"!!!!!!

But I did splurge on a 7pc set of S-O metrics (VSM807B) yesterday, even though I was disappointed in the skips. It goes from 10-15, and then a 17mm. My OCD will likely necessitate a 16mm purchase in the future.... and maybe an 18 and 19 too!

Don't worry about those metric sizes the whole system is bad for OCD..
5/8" will do for 16mm and 3/4" is so close to 19mm it's within manufacturing tolerance.
18mm is a total oddball, mostly only used by the French! 3/8" British Standard Whitworth is close enough to 18mm across the flats so I just use one of those..

But, but, but.... I need them ALLLLLLLLL!!!!!

That's simple enough, I know how you feel.
Just get:
All the metric sizes every millimetre without missing any out.
All the AF " sizes, don't forget to include the /32" US ones.
A set of Whitworth for British Standard (BS) and British Standard Fine (BSF)

Maybe you had better get 2 of each of all these in case there's a pipe connector needing 2 wrenches in an awkward place..

Hate to break it to ya but Bonney made angle wrenches up to 2". Full polish up to 1 1/4", satin on the larger ones.
I used to know a guy who liked Bonney angle wrenches for removing Trane A/C compressors. And he had big un's! The 2"er is a beast. :shocking:

What a coincidence. I used to have an empty roll just like that.:bounce: You’ve had that roll since 2017 and it is still empty? You may get kicked out of the Bonney club at this rate!

Yeah, I keep looking, but I'm not finding any of those angle wrenches at the flea. I'll try and step up my game! I don't want to get kicked out of the club...
