My building was 30 x 64 it was going to be a monolithic pour but way too much concrete. There was something like 56 yards of concrete so we went with the footers at 48" deep and put 2" of foam on the inside of the footers all around to try to keep heat in. 10mil plastic on the floor and then about 5" of concrete. That was 20+ years ago and not a crack other than at the expansion cut lines. I originally was going to go with radiant heating but went with Natural forced air and A/C. It a very large building to heat - no windows, two man doors and one overhead door with 12' ceilings.

Never had any issue with the floors getting damp and since it is in the middle of a woods, A/C never has been used. Never gets about 75 in there.

How is a monolithic pour more concrete than a 48” deep footer?

Maybe worded incorrectly - The guy doing the work said there was 27 yards in the footer and about the same in the slab - he was worried about doing all 56 yards at one time in one pour so they did the footers one day and the slab the next day with rebar tying in the two.

Wierd....... how did the slab turn out?
I get about 10 yds extra for the thickened edge over the slab at 16” thickedge with and 16” wide.

Sounds like an inexperience and bad decision that costed you more money? The slab pour still ends up being the same size so not sure why the yardage matters.
