What’s the cost and hoops you have to do to get free shipping if it’s below the $59 threshold?
...

Using the Personal Shopper app is completely free, and they can do free shipping on as small of an order as you feel like making. The only catch is you can only deal with them during M-F business hours, and if you have out-of-pocket spending on an order with them, they have to order it through their account instead of yours and you reimburse them for the OOP amount through a separate website.

SD says that for a limited time, RetailMeNot Cashback is currently offering a whopping 15% back up to $50 earnings on Sears.com purchases (only your OOP amount before tax/shipping counts towards this, and of course gift cards are excluded). That means up to $333.33 OOP gets 15% back. Good timing for anyone considering doing that $300 back in SYW points deal; they would stack.

That is a pretty good deal. I am in the market for a set of tires but anything I selected was out of stock. I wonder if they do not sell tires anymore....

They've been struggling with limited tire suppliers for like a year now. Can't be picky about brand/model if you want to get tires from Sears these days. It would be a great deal if you can still find something in your size.

You know, I was wondering this myself on Sunday. I was at my local Sears on Sunday and the tire department had been all moved around and there were no tires on display on the wall.

Thanks! That make sense. I was going to have them shipped it to me since there is no local Sears around. I am glad they did not let me order the tires then the order would just keep getting delayed like some of the tools that I have ordered in the past.

Several of the Craftsman double box end wrenches are listed at about 1/2 price

Anyone have any recent experience with them for quality and performance?

COO?

In the past when they had a deal like these, it pretty much was the end of the tool style.

I don't have experience with those wrenches, but FYI, that's part of what we were talking about earlier this week - a whole lot of the individual sockets, socket accessories/extensions/breaker bars, and screwdrivers, are also half-price currently. The price is the same in-store too, although my store had not bothered to put tags up saying so.

In the past when they had a deal like these, it pretty much was the end of the tool style.

I just received two deep offset wrench yesterday (20-22mm and 21-23mm), and have several more incoming on separate order. IIRC, the little tag did not say. Maybe it did but I was not paying attention. They all came in covered with glue residue so I was busy cleaning them off. I believe they are made in China or Taiwan (definitely not US).

As comparison, I have a single 12-14mm deep offset wrench which is made in US that I bought many years ago. Looking at the finish, I feel that the quality on this one is good/ok, but not as good as my US made. Can not speak on performance since I have not use it. I do have other CF wrenches, which are made in US, China and Taiwan. From using them all these years, I honestly can not tell the different (maybe there is a diffence, but I can not tell). They all turn the fastener just the same to me. FWIW, I have not broke any of my CF wrench, but have broke HF wrench before.

Having said all that, I am very happy with the two deep offset wrenches that I got yesterday considering the price point. I am just DIY, working on my cars, so I really can not justify getting expensive tools that is only used every once in a while.

I also notice some of the straight DBE are on sale. I may get them as well, especially the larger sizes.

Hope this helps! IMO, if you want them, you probably should get them before they are gone for good. I agree that this is probably the end of these tools.

dont forget to use $5/35 from RMN for ^^^

and currently sears has 15% cash back through RMN

and if anyone is in the market for a tool box, this CM 52" is a decent one (with soft close drawers) and is $404.99 currently, minus $35/300 coupon and $10 freecash that pretty much everyone should have, plus 15% cashback, you could get it for $360 plus tax OOP (with $54 back for $306 total cash OOP) and still get $300 back in points. thats about what i paid last year at the height of the "lets-avoid-bankruptcy" fire sale they had going on, only w/o the cashback from RMN--damn good deal IMO

for comparison lowes sells the same cabinet for $489.

(Full details:
" Spend $300+, get $300 CASHBACK in points
Offer valid 5/19/19–7/6/19. Members get $300 CASHBACK in points in 20 installments when you spend $300 or more. First $15 in points issued within 48 hours and are valid for 7 days. Subsequent payments issued every Monday starting 7/15/19. Valid at select Sears stores and on items sold by Sears at sears.com. Maximum $300 CASHBACK in points per member. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction. ")

(Update regarding the RMN 15% back: this might only last through May 26, or at least dropping to something like 7.5% back then. Apparently RMN is doing a 'double cashback weekend' right now that ends on Sunday.)

Yes, that would be a great use of this deal combo. :) Just note that you can't use both "$35/300 coupon and $10 [off $80 if it's the one I have] freecash" on it; it's one or the other, coupons and freecash surprise points don't work together. Oh, and RMN is capped at $50 back, see details in my quoted post.

A bunch of individual screwdrivers are also 50% off, including these Robertson ones I hadn't been aware Craftsman had (thought it was just Phillips/slotted/Torx):
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-no-1-screwdriver-robertson/p-00941141000P
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-no-2-screwdriver-robertson/p-00941142000P
$2.99ea sale, $5.98ea regularly

All the individual sockets are half-off too.

Any idea when these sale (~50% off for individual sockets and wrenches) will be over?

Nope. When I went to my store this past Monday, hoping to see sale tags (which have an end date in fine print), they hadn't bothered to put them up on any of that stuff.

That make sense because I am thinking this is the "sale until all of these old stocks are gone" so the end date is whenever they are all gone.

Lots of posts on the Sears FB page about their new Home & Life stores.

They said that only one of the three stores has a tool department (Lafayette, LA).

Didn't see any replies about my opinion back on May 16th:
"Maybe making room for incoming new versions?"

However, we know they've been searching for new suppliers after the bankruptcy. So it would **** for the store staff to make room for a new supplier's versions, while all the old supplier's stuff was still on the hooks.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it, and the price drops on open stock for the past three weeks are about Memorial Day savings. :dunno:

I wouldn't say it makes sense, though, since nobody who goes to the store without researching online will have any idea that stuff is half-price now, so it's not going to help it sell very fast. ;) If they don't want a sale to end, they put a far-out end date on the tags and then put out a fresh set of tags on anything that hasn't sold out when that first end date arrives. It's just chronic understaffing and/or slacking that has been causing an increasing amount of stores to put out a decreasing amount of their assigned tags. It would take a *lot* of tags to do all the open-stock stuff, if they don't just put out a few big 'everything on this aisle 50% off'-type signs.

It's just chronic understaffing and/or slacking that has been causing an increasing amount of ......(fill in the blank)

That statement could apply to a lot their problems. I recently went to pick up 6 items that I had ordered online...I went to the Kiosk and scanned my bar code in the email on my phone and it came up with a screen for four of the six items..where upon I was supposed to touch the screen by each item in a box to designated that I wanted to pick up that item. I did so for 4 items and then I must have hit the wrong part of the screen to go to the next page for the remaining items, instead it submitted the 4 items I had selected and it showed up on the big overhead screen. I then repeated the process for the other two items and then it showed up separately on the big overhead screen. They brought out the items in two trips, but when they did what ever it is they do to clear it, they showed the first group as picked up and the second group as cancelled. The next day there was a refund for the two of the 6 items that I had in my possession. Normally I would go back and make this right or just do it via a chat session, but I'm not sure that it wouldn't cause more problems than it's worth and maybe even get a demerit on an employees record, all for only $9.00 plus tax. (it was from the $4.50 cent sale they had recently, I actually found six $4.50 items I thought I could use.)

Yeah, I'd just leave it alone at that point too. You never know when they'll next make a mistake that's not in your favor; if that ends up being for $9 or less, you can skip complaining about that one and think of this as your advance reimbursement. :)

I think the sale is over. I was just looking at some of the single wrenches I want, and their prices have gone up. Glad I have bought a few wrenches that I need. I also have a few large sockets that I was thinking to buy, but those are purely for adding into my collection. I kinda doubt I would ever use it.

It was fun while it lasted :bounce:

Have a great Sunday everyone

So much for that, then... I'd had a feeling, based on what I recall from previous years, that regardless of what the reason may or may not be for that sale, it was going to disappear as we got closer to Father's Day. (I've even seen this happen with things that they literally marked with the "Clearance" designation, which they rarely use. At Sears, "Clearance" doesn't necessarily mean it stays on clearance till it's all sold, like it would anywhere else.) Sears has seemed to treat the weeks around Father's Day as the "people who don't normally buy tools will suddenly want to and won't know not to pay full price" timeframe, when they think they can get away with ending most of their sales. :headshake Maybe they'll go back on sale in a month or so.

For Memorial Day, are Sears stores going to double the military discount for tools and lawn & garden?

Regular priced: 20% off > 40% off ?

Sale priced: 5% off > 10% off ?

I still see 50% off or more for some open-stock, but I'm not even going to try to find a pattern with Sears craziness.

Craftsman 9mm Nut Driver $3.99 (half price)
Craftsman 10mm Nut Driver $8.48 (full price)

Craftsman Phillips #2 X 6" Screwdriver $3.14 (half price)
Craftsman Phillips #2 X 4" Screwdriver $5.78 (full price)

Most open-stock impact sockets and accessories.

Craftsman adjustable wrenches

Yeah it is kinda weird to end the sale on Sunday before Memorial Day :headscrat Pretty sure they are the only retailer who does this.

While one expect everything to end at the same time, I can see the 10mm driver be the first to hit what ever thresholds they might have for ending a sale price, at least we'll before a 9mm

Nice clearance price, but need to order it on a store computer to get free shipping.

Craftsman 25 Piece Ratcheting T-Handle Set $7.47

spin_prod_981132312

Hmm, interesting find. I'll see if my store still has any and the website just isn't admitting it. You can also order through the Personal Shopper app to get free shipping.

Update: Whoops, already gone for ordering. Page is in "Temporarily Unavailable" mode now.

Update 2: OOS in my store too.

Went to stop in to see the Sears applicance & HW I frequent more in the warmer months had this item, and they are closing. I just called a couple days ago and the owner answered like normal, and helped me out. I stopped in a couple weeks ago and business as usual then.
It was really the only store I picked up made in USA product, that most everyone else didn't have. I wanted to burn some points on Oregon saw chains too, but doubt they are accepting them. Not sure if me using so many points there helped the situation

I'm not sure about the franchise stores, but I know the corporate stores that have closed were accepting SYW points right until the end - but only for regular merchandise, not store fixtures/supplies that aren't normally for sale (e.g. when my second-closest store closed, I bought an unused package of label maker tape for a fraction of the regular price, but had to spend all-OOP for it).

Couldn't hurt to ask about points next time you're in the area, if they're not done liquidating by then. IIRC, corporate Sears should be reimbursing for points usage at franchise locations, so it's only for price-matching or agreeing to take a non-franchise-compatible coupon that the franchises would lose money.

This is probably more of an issue with the SHOS company forcing some of their franchisees to shut down due to SHOS's ongoing supply-chain/financial troubles, which they've been gradually doing to a lot of locations over the last year or two. They're in worse shape than the reconstituted corporate Sears is now, which is why Eddie has been trying to buy up SHOS and re-merge the franchise operation with the corporate operation, but they're resisting.
