I've been unhappy with how my wrenches are organized. I have the plastic drop in organizer. I have regular box end wrenches, gear wrenches, offset gear wrenches, and stubby wrenches. I'd hate to dedicate another drawer to another plastic drop in. I'm hoping there is a better way.

I don't use that stuff, it's too tedious.

I'm A fan of using wire to make custom wrench holders. I use a mini ball bat with the end cut off to taper the loops.

I'm going to need to add a second wrench drawer for sure, the blackhawk wrenches are a little awkward to get out, thankfully they don't see much use and it hasn't been a problem, but I've also got a set of stubbies and that need added too.

I always wondered if it would be better not to sort them by set but instead by size, so like the 1/2" combo next to the 1/2" 4 way angle next to the 1/2" ratcheting...

I’m interested in ideas too.

This is my SAE drawer. I use SAE more than metric....

I have my main wrenches upper/left. Then I have the others in their factory cases on the right. The space between the foam and front of the drawer is a catch all for the loose wrenches, as well as on top of the foam...

I think I need a bigger box....

Wrench Drawer(s) of my main box. Automotive and Bicycle specific reside elsewhere.

METRIC Drawer

There is some overlap that could be cleared up.

This one needs some work.

Ernst rails work great. The straight rails are from Snap On.

Went through a couple styles but it never ended up working right. The Snap On KRA15 was the best bet cause it’s customizable(cut and move where you actually need it)and like $10 free shipping from Snap On store.5eb726735874c1527a87313b4b34d945.jpgbdf042924dfa299fdf7cc1b6b97c5291.jpg4a6c1f5e3e3d0bdea78b80985ee1dcf6.jpg

Nice setup! Do the wrenchs sit tight in those organizers, or more loosely?

They sit tight probably the best for making sure there isn’t wasted space. They also offer another wrench rail KRA17 or something like that which is for bigger wrenches but I’ve never tried those.

I've had to play Tetris with wrenches for years until I finally landed on a configuration that I am happy with. I don't like the big trays that they come in as they waste so much space so I utilize the tighter configured racks for the most used wrenches and then used wire that I would around a mandrel on my lathe for the others.

I'll have to see if I can find a picture that's handy.

MICE. Similar to my metric drawer. I have the equivalent in SAE but they live on the shelf in their original rolls.

I use a combination of wrench racks, Ikea dish drying racks and CD racks. The metric drawer has a Harbor Freight multi organizer with the other racks sprinkled in. Works pretty good.

Metric, have up to 24mm on here as well as some of the beefy SK ratcheting wrenches.

Mix of Ernst gripper and "tray" rails. They work real well on the older CM raised panel wrenches. The crows foot fit nicely on kobalt socket rails.

And some of my over 1" combo wrenches. Good use for a deep drawer that was not deep enough for power tools.

Here’s my 4 drawers. I use Hall wrench racks for my two main drawers and the other two are a free for all. The Hall racks made a huge difference when I added them a few months ago. I was able to free an entire drawer in my box. Still plenty of room for improvement. The drawer for the jumbo wrenches definitely needs a better solution.

I’m currently using kitchen utensil magnet bar. Also experimenting with a bolt and wing nut to keep some of the lesser used wrenches together.
