It's been a few months, any updates?

BTW, I really like your setup. I am going forward with purchasing a property with a 22x22 garage in the Racine area of SE WI, for my Crown Vic and my pickup.

Do you find the space tight? It seems like you get by okay, but it does look a lot easier to wheel one out when working on the other.

I don't have any real updates mostly because of the weather.. I've been working on a project out there tho.. I'll add that once I make sure it works haha.... actually took a bunch of pics while working on it...

As per the garage,

Yes it's tight, more front to back than side to side.. The garage door is 15' x 7' parking at an angle sux with the length of the truck.. I can't really put both the f250 and the mustang in the garage at the same time with what I have and plan to have in there. When doing projects on the truck the car sits outside. Otherwise the truck is always parked outside. I did try both once but I couldn't open the door on the truck:lol_hitti... I have the toolbox and work bench so my available space is reduced by 5' to 6'. I really wish the garage was 24x24 or better yet just bigger... :lol_hitti..

How long/wide is your crown vic? What kind of truck, how big?

The mustang is a perfect fit. I could maybe fit 2 mustang's in there but with the work bench and cabinets it would be a little tight.. The f250 is 80" wide minus the mirrors it has a 142" wheel base extended cab short box I think its 19'-8" long..

I would guess if I had the bench behind the mustang on the right and I backed in the truck tight to the far wall on the left it might work as I can walk around the car.. hurmmmmm..

Yea that crown vic is a big car as I recall. Might have to park one outside unless you go without wide benches and tool boxes.

Ha, I don't mean to scare you it is a nice space to work in.. I've been trying to talk the women in to adding 2 to 4 feet to the front of it but shes not going for that  , depending on the lift, I'm sure to never be able to fit 2 cars in there ever again..

Congrats on the new house.. Let us know how it goes

Thanks!
Yes, the vic is a similar width to the mustang but probably 2 feet longer.
And the truck is a standard cab, long bed. I don't plan on putting both in the garage and having room to work, but its nice to know it may all fit with the few work benches and toolboxes I have.

I plan on eventually doing a bump out, not sure how large, I would like to go 12 wide by 8 deep for ease of building material, but I may have to go smaller for my wallets health. That would house toolboxes and a workbench if possible. Being that the vic is short I will look into cabinets along the wall, and idk what i'll do with this truck...

No pics of today's fun. I started redoing the front brakes of the F250 because they felt spongy. I had just replaced the caliper slide pins at the end of last year as I had found the old ones frozen but the pads were good.

So I put her up on Jack stands and removed the wheels. Tore it down and found the lower pins that had a rubber piece on them were tight.. I had to stand on the brackets and pull up with a vice grip. Dang they were in there good.. I think the grease I used made them swell... I had a set of replacement pins already that didn't need the rubber part. I had ordered a set of rotors with pads thinking I was at max caliper stroke and figured I'd throw em on no matter whati found. I Also received a tube of sylglide..

While messing with the driver side I noticed play in the front hub bearings. So I ordered a new hub. I proceeded to pull the hub off. Surprisingly it came off pretty easy...
But the dust shield was rotten so I ordered dust shields too.

luckily the pass hub feels ok so I won't mess with it yet. The lock hub on this side works but I can't turn it to manually lock it. I tore it down but it's still not right.. I don't want to spend a hundred bucks on that yet so I'll try to clean it up better..

I'm sure in the future I will have to replace the brake hoses and calipers. Ha probably the lines too. I already bought a master cylinder but don't think that was the issue...Hurm, maybe I should buy a new truck...

Then we cooked out brats on the old grill. Watched an episode or two of Davey and Goliath ..

Sence I'm waiting for parts I vacuumed out the cab. I also looked over the rusty cab corners, doors, and wheel arches. And thought wow that's getting pretty bad. But I can't afford to do more right now. Just happy I can do most of the work myself and save a bunch of cash..

Maybe I'll take some pics tomorrow..

Thanks for following along..

Mike

Hey all, it's been too long.. Not much to report on the garage itself.. I've since bought a 2017 gmc sierra 1500 double cab with the 6.2. As a replacement for the f250. Thec250 still runs but the rot has gotten soo bad on the cab and the bed supports have collapsed.. She's not too happy. I still love that truck and can't seem to get rid of her.

Other news I have probably mentioned i have property in the UP. I had a moble home that the roof collapsed a few yrs ago so I bought a shipping container to store everything I wanted to keep.. Well, mid last year end of July the container was broken into and everything was stolen. ATV, lawnmower. Yard tools, enough lumber to build a large shed. And alot of other odds and ends. Due to being quite busy we hadn't been up there much in the last year.

What a devastating loss. I reported it to the county police but they haven't really done anything. I sent them some trail camera pictures (not great pics but...)and they never told me they didn't get them until I asked if anything was found. I have sent them the pics of the guy 3 times. Nothing no reply. Sad really. I'd say I had at least 10 to 12k of stuff stolen. My property insurance covered about 3k of it. Ugh..

I'll attach the 3 pics I have soon.

Mike...
