Any good leads on a pair of 18v 5ahr batteries?
I saw somewhere online a pre production prototype of a Makita battery backpack that held 4 LXT batteries with a wire attached to a battery simulator that slid into the tools.
see post 67
I just wish Makita would make a battery powered grease gun.
Home Depot has a deal on the multitool (tool + 4AH + charger) for $129. Seems like a decent deal if you also happen to need the charger and the battery. I'm looking for an OMT and would love to stay in the Makita ecosystem, but it's brushed and an older design. Can anyone who has one share their experience?

I have this unit, I will say its a lifesaver. If i didnt already have it i would be jumping on this one. Yes it will burn through a battery quick enough, but with the 4ah it should last a bit longer.
I use it to make flush cuts against a floor, door frames, fence poles, etc. really cant beat it.
I got one of these last year. Dont know how i lived without one. Its an amazing tool.

Will my original LXT charger charge the 5 AH batteries or do I need and updated charger. If so, I am going to kick myself for not buying the recip deal above. (already have the oscillating tool and use the heck out of it!)
The advantage of the Makita is that it's a Makita, although I've read the ergonomics aren't great.
Sorry about that, they have honored price mistakes in the past. I say it was price mistake because they are still taking orders at $150Ordered, got a confirmation and now followed by:
"We have recently received word from MAKITA that model SH01ZW has been discontinued with no replacement. Due to this issue, we will be canceling your order. We apologize for any inconvenience."
No, I am in the Dewalt 12 volt and it made no sense to start yet another battery platform.XJPat, did YOU successfully get one for $8.49?

That went fast. But only 135 lbs torque ?
Edit: Oh wait, I didn't see how long ago that was posted. Sorry !![]()
