I just got this set of Armstrong ratchet wrenches delivered today.
armstrong.jpg
I paid a b.i.n. of $125,maybe a little more than I would normally give for a used set of wrenches, but I'd been looking for a metric set to match my new sae set that I bought last month, and I'd had a hellava time finding them.

This is a Proto 3/8" dr. torque wrench #6066,that I just won last night.
proto.jpg
I put in an insane lowball bid on it,not expecting to get it,but after the dust settled,I was the only bidder at $12.50. As soon as it gets here,I'll ship it off to Team Torque and have them give it the once over.

Just received my new SO T860MP 1/4" indexing ratchet today! :bounce:

I'm a big fan of these ratchets but don't know why SO stopped making them...
Were they prone to breaking or did they just not sell very well?

Have you had a chance to try out the double swivel spark plug socket? i've wanted some for a while, but never got round to buying them.

I have a similar set of extractors, they're awesome. As it turns out they're covered under warranty too. I've had about 3 replaced that i broke.

:headshake Moose, we've discussed this before..........you don't need a reason. The tools are there, therefore you must buy them. :spit:

I know, a few impulse buys. I just saw them and thought "Yep! I'll have that!" :D

No reason other than i wanted them, but now i need to use them. I'm glad you understand..

Snap-on compession tester. I'm hoping these adapters will be a good addition to my compression tester set i already have. Does anyone have any info on this set?

Sykes-Pickavant drop arm/pitman arm puller. I wanted a puller, and now i have one. :)

The indexing are very nice, 72 teeth for the 3/8 and 1/2 and 60 in the 1/4.... When you put them in the unlocked mode, they can be used as a speeder in the push/pull mode.

I can't believe so many of you guys love those things. I found a usa made MAC hard handle 3/8 rotator head on ebay a few years for 30-40. I had it for 4yrs and never could find a use for it. I ended up selling it for $80. Was the best part about that tool.

Got my latest eBay purchase today - brand new set of Snap On OXI metrics, from 10mm - 19mm, in a somewhat shopworn tray. I wish SO would make the trays a little more durable, I know I'm not the only one that likes to use them in the drawer. This one takes up less space than any wrench rack.

Some nice buys there. You won't be disappointed with the FLF80 and T72, i have them and they're some of my most-used ratchets. I did find that a little gease inside made a world of difference to them. They're great ratchets. :)

I just bought myself a nice Sykes-Pickavant puller. 12.5" beam, 9" max between jaws, 8" deep jaws. Used once, £35. :D

I got an S80 for Christmas. After using it for a few months, I decided I needed more Dual 80s. I found myself making a list of all the different chrome handled Dual 80s and then thinking I needed to re-organize my tool box to make a drawer just for ratchets. That can't be a good sign.

Sweet, i don't have an S80. :(

I find my TF72 is one of my most used ratchets, it's strong and very smooth, great little ratchet. I also need more Dual 80s. :D

Orange. i'm thinking i may get a new handle for each one. Anybody know the part #'s?

Why replace them? They look to be in very good condition.

Your tool passion knows no bounds Mr. Moose.

Ah, it's true.

I'm better when i have no money. When i have money, i'm always finding new tools to spend it on. I don't go out, don't buy anything else, don't spend it on anything frivilous; just tools.

Luckily, i'm in demand at the moment. Put a new exhaust and anti-roll bars on an Audi S4 recently, rear wheel bearings on a Golf, exhaust on a Fiat, Aligned Nissan X-Trail the other day, did anti-roll bar adjustment on the Audi again today, doing rear brakes on the X-Trail next week, fitting coilovers to the Audi S4 in the next couple days, rebuilding a Golf suspension and servicing it this week. :)

This thread doesn't show my new tow rope, ball-joint separators or Wurth brake cleaner bottle though, as they weren't from eBay. :)
