Hmm.
Only things listed under their webpage as new that it could be is nano impact sockets or chrome flex sockets.
Never dealt with astro, out of curiosity what is their quality?
They dont seem to state Country of Origin on their website. That makes me assume it is made in China or another rebranded Taiwan.
For consumables (impacts) I guess a bogo is a good deal if its chinesium. As far as the chrome flex, a set is 50 dollars. A set of those not made domestically is of interest if it can at least function at a true 90° angle.
Kind of curious to hear more about astro, but dont really need more sockets after my "GJ binge." Jk I seem to never have enough sockets if the general consensus is Astros good, I might jump in for some back ups to throw in a container.
I've become a big fan of Astro and own quite a few of their tools. I'm away from home for a few days so I can't verify COO, but I'm quite sure all the stuff I have is Taiwan.
That said they certainly aren't what I'd call a "rebrander" - they have their own engineering department and are always coming out with innovative tools and options. They don't simply pay some Taiwan factory to add their name to random tools like some people would picture.
I have the Onyx Nano impact gun, which is great and can fit anywhere. I have the Nano metric 3/8 impacts, and the hex and torx Nano's, all great too, and very handy to have such shallow impact sockets. I'll be buying the Nano 1/2 sockets soon too.
My favorite Astro tool is the Hub/Rotor/Drum Puller set, one of the best tool purchases I've ever made. Super strong, great price, pulls hub and bearing assemblies and rotors that are stuck with ease. Stuff I would have hammered on for a long time before. And it's a set they designed and spec'ed out themselves, and is a fraction of the cost of OTC or competitors.
Lastly their customer service is great. Big presence on the board here. Warranty items people post pics of without question or even asking for replacement. The hub puller kit instructions showed an optional brace bar and when I asked about it Chris mailed me one for free!
