I was browsing store.snapon.com yesterday enduring the usual slowness and crappy layout. Came in this morning and refreshed and WOW!

It looks like the old URL redirects to a new https://shop.snapon.com/

I haven't had much time to browse yet but the new site is responsive and seems fully redone.

Edit: You can't login with your previous userName/pass but you can with email/pass which requires a password change. New passwords are more strict (10 chars vs 8), special chars, etc.

They did, however, migrate the shopping cart and order history - kudos for that!

I wish they would alphabetize the listings.
Crowfoot should be before Ratcheting wrench.
But yes the sight is nicer.
Hope search function works.

Hum, anything with a dropdown isn't working :( oh well. I'm in IT and know these things are not without some "post-cut" issues. I'm sure it'll get sorted. Hopefully they didn't do a price increase at the same time >:)

Yeh, that didn't last long before everything broke. Drop-downs and general navigation worked fine when I first posted. Now all sorts of HTML errors. And, ouch, only supported on Chrome and Firefox???

I'm in IT, too, and if I saw these types of problems after a deploy, I'd have to revert to my old site.

Yep, looks like they disabled the redirect to the new site and reverted to the old (slow, lame) server at store.snapon.com. The new shop.snapon.com server is dysfunctional (for now, anyway).

The Techangle torque wrenches are double the price than what is on the old site and a TF72 ratchet is $65 more.:wtf:

Are you sure those aren’t Australian dollar prices? I ask because that’s what I get served (even though I’m in France).

That site is for Australia and the UK- look at the bottom left corner for the little flag in a drop- down menu.

I was really confused why all the ratchets cost twice as much as I remember.

After looking at those Australian prices, shopping for Snap-on at the U.S. website is like shopping at Walmart for tools.

I don't know why they couldn't just face lift the old old site. It wasn't bad, just not pretty. Then they revamped it and made the interface about as unintuitive as possible. Then they deleted all the parts diagrams and most of the parts catalog numbers. Multi-billion dollar company.

I feel like someone in the online department said

'They think Matco and MAC have bad websites? Hold my beer and watch this'.

Site is working for me, in USD amounts. Needed to look up part numbers, my green scope lead got sucked through a belt drive today. :(

I actually preferred the site from a few years ago. Few, if any, drop down menus and very fast. It didn't look as fancy I guess but very easy to find what you were looking for.

I just ask my dealer for prices and ordering.

Glad i don’t have to deal with their website.

I agree about McMaster-Carr. Everyone in the industrial world with a website should copy them.

Do you have USA selected for location? It defaulted to Australia on my phone's browser and those prices are indeed higher. Prices seem normal once on US.

Personally, I think it's only ok. The layout is not very intuitive and browsing on an actual computer makes me feel as if the whole damn thing was designed for a tablet or phone. There are too many pictures and not enough meaningful content. If I go to the page for one of their scan tools or specialty tools, why is there download link to the user manual or updated software or something? Seems like a rush job that only focused on the superficial and cosmetics on "making the sale" and not enough time focused on the little things that would make the site outstanding.
