RT! Welcome back! ;0) You have definitely been busy! Lot of good stuff you've been finding. As usual. Like that Estwing long handled hatchet (axe?). I'm not familiar with Paschall but love the look of that ball peen hammer set you're collecting. That Blackhawk sign (or whatever it is/was) is very cool as are those Plomb badges! You ****!

Yes ragtopta ***** !

The paschall brand was plomb tools brand of hammer. Due to the first go around in the lawsuit with plumb , they were not allowed to manufacture and market hammers with their name on them due to the similarities in pronunciation.

Cool Estwing hatchet/axe thingie. Looks unsafe to swing single handledly & too short to double up without bending over... I want one.
Its actually about the same length as a regular axe I think just a smaller head. now I need a few more to complete my set!

Rags, that Herbrand set is sweet, as are the Plomb badges! I have one of the Knicker boxer boxes, and I think they are for radio repair. I use mine for bicycle tools.

I got it for $2 and I like the leatherette wrap . not sure what ill use it for, still needs a clean up!

Rags returns! It's like Xmas in August! :)

Nice.

Very nice and uncommon on both!

Is that a metal badge/decal? What are the dimensions? Maybe off a big jack? It's early. 20's to 40's logo. It's cool but it's not $75 cool! Good lukc on waiting it out.

I don't think I have ever seen one with a panel like that.

You know my saying. "One of anything is just one. Two is a collection!" :)

Lugz always gotta get me started on the path of... I gottaget them all!!!

That's a Hudson's Bay pattern ax. They were designed for backpackers, campers, and others who wanted an ax lighter and shorter but capable of light serious work.

I got some stuff (big Williams "S" wrench, early Snap-on Tee-handle, and some special machinists' tools...) at my Thursday flea (see Pic 1), but it's quick story time, and this one does not have a happy ending.

I made THREE interrelated stupid *** mistakes that I will be beating myself up about all day, at least.

MISTAKE #1 was walking by a vendor with a pair of big Parker vises. I was anxious, I had just arrived, later than usual, he looked like he knew what he was doing, and I figured they would be out of my price range. They always are.

MISTAKE #2 was stopping on my way back to my truck! I was bent over checking out the swivel on the 874 (see Pic 2) and I heard him say, "Sorry, that's sold."

MISTAKE #3 was asking him, against all my instincts, experience and better judgement, "Just out of curiosity, how much did you let that go for?" to which he replied, "I sold the pair of them for fifty bucks."

Needless to say, my heart sank and I immediately started calling myself a freaking idiot inside my head and that hasn't stopped yet!

I know what you're thinking... surely that's it.... Onwards!

Pic 5 Blackhawk wall hanger I found but didn't buy...YET.. its asking 75. Does anyone know what it is exactly?

Can't tell the size but it looks like a **** plate from a Blackhawk rifle.

I picked up this Reed/Craftsman 5184 on my way home from work at a garage sale. I had to choose between it and another Craftsman 3". According to the experts on the vise thread I chose well. It is a transitional from the long C reeds to the 519x series and has the Heritage badge. I only had $30 on me which took some work to get the seller to accept. To top it off I was on my motorcycle and had to pull the dynamic out to get it in the saddle bags.

Another good trip to the pawn shop today. Old Craftsman tee handle/breaker, 12” Diamond Tool adjustable, Proto 5449 1/2” drive ratchet, and the hand drill and bike wrench are too dirty to read. Also a 1/4 drive Craftsman V tee handle. All for $15. I keep finding these Protos really cheap and the guys at the pawn shop just don’t know what they’ve got. Lucky me

hi guys! I have been out of the loop for a while. . . .

"Looks like I have about 50 pages of suckage to read through!"

Trying to skirt the rules, there, but I think this qualifies as a self-****.

You've got a lot of ordinary stuff, but you've also got some real "what-is-it"s also.

That is a really cool jack. It deserves a thread all by itself, with a full restore.

If I had that jack, I'd be looking for excuses to jack up our cars.

I recently picked up a big brother for it as well.

Oh well, it happens.
Ya, its happened to me, Lugz.
Sympathies Lugz! I think we have all been there before!
For sure. Me too, and it probably won't be the last time. Doesn't stop the self-***-kicking though!

My trip had a happier ending today. See Pic 1, which was all pulled out of the typical table dump in Pic 2.

The vendor was watching me check the markings on everything, and when I had my pile set aside, he checked everything for Snap-on, knowing nothing of Vlchek (the near-complete driver set!), Plomb (pliers, midgets sockets, 18" WF extension), Proto (Phillips screwdriver bits, NOS snips in NOS box), PENENS (12" adjustable), or Walden (midget set). The flexi-picker-upper is Aircraft Specialty Co MAGIC FINGERS.

Haha. I must confess, I did, Eagle Eye Olson! I also left behind a Plomb WF-84 DBE that is to the left of the pic. (Also a couple of off-topic Williams ignition wrenches, a Cornwell angle wrench, some Hinsdale midget sockets... I have always been selective, and I am trying to be even more selective lately.)

Can't blame you. As long as it wasn't a 3061 I will let it slide.[emoji2]

I slipped out to one Friday Estate dale - Not too bad, but I was late and these were probably leavings... Not that its BAD, but probably could have been better...

Hammers and new replacement handles: The BP is a 20 oz Wizard (Edit - Second wizard hammer for me) The Clamping Rawhide is a No. 3 Garland. I'm liking the "Danial Boon" branding on two of the handles! Never seen that one before.

attachment.php

The Big Speeder is a SO - could not find a date code; the smaller says "Made in USA, and is pretty nicely made, and its a shorty - However, it is HEX drive! It appears to be cad plated as well? possibly war time? :dunno:
the "punch" is Thorsen and I'm certain it started out life as a 3/8 breaker! The desk lock is for a roll top type desk and is a Corbin.

attachment.php

Drivers! top 2 are P&C, next is a Proto, a couple of small "made in USA", the driver is 3/8, adn a Bonney, the alst driver has markings that I cant completely decipher - OLD _ _ F . . F Something ... :dunno:

attachment.php

A couple of clamps, a bit over 2" capacity - the bottom one is Vulcan and "heavy Duty Clap" on one side he other is indecipherable, as is the other clamp on both sides... Fro the heavies I like this size and I can use then a lot and they are not so huge as to pull on the weldment (my usual use...)

attachment.php

Al the above was a twenty

I came back to the garage for a second scan after the house, and found this Scissors jack Two Bucks, and its the heaviest built and 2x wider than any I've ever had!

I have been getting skunked all week, either with things to do or hitting sales that say tools, but when I get there its nothing of interest. So, after I hit home depot to pick up the things I need for this weekends projects, I swung by the restore. $67.50 got me this:

Sparta sparkplug socket, S-K and long C sockets and a metric/SAE 18" scale. A little bit of rust, but it will do its job. And this guy:

Craftsman 55cc chainsaw, barely used. 18" bar, starts right up, and the chain is very sharp. It will be perfect for around the house.

Paid $20 for some 3/4 drive goodies. All have engravings, rust, and hammer marks. Basically bought the lot for the S-K Wayne ratchet.

•breaker bar, name ground off, bolt repair...lol
•Craftsman =V= sliding T-handle
•S-K Wayne 47170, works great
