They are marked snap on, they are us made. I know snap on had a period were some tools weren't marked with US coo. Although I have never heard of that with the wrenches, I've never heard of SO hand tools being made elsewhere, I vaguely remember something about Italy though.

I know the PWZ's are made by Bahco in Argentina. The adjustable wrenches and vice grips are made in Spain. I'm sure other hand tools are foreign made as well. The percentage is much higher when it comes to the power and air tools.

It was spain I was thinking of not Italy, you are correct. I still find it very difficult to believe snap on would make wrenches out of the US.

I could be wrong, that's how brands trap fools like me.

Most all of the Mexico made items I have seen (rats and sockets) were early 80s. Have not seen any show up in the US or Canada, mostly in the UK.

Never knew SO had a production facility in Mexico. What was the timeframe and what products did they produce?

thanks!

Snap on probably had a plant in Mexico for Mexican government contracts. Proto also had something similar going on until they sold their stake in the joint venture and it was renamed Urrea.

I don't know jack about COO markings, but I saw this on YouTube the other day.

Nick Pinchuk: China is not stealing American jobs but there are still concerns

"We have five factories and 1,500 people in China who are accessing that market".....

I posted the link for what I hope is the start of his discussion on Chinese manufacturing, but I found the whole flick's discussion worthwhile.

And I am NOT trying to start a political discussion here. I just no idea what SO's operations were in such a fast growing economy.
