I have (2) of these impacts. Bought both new at the time. I worked 2 jobs where I needed tools, at one time. One slightly newer than the other.
One of them is very weak. These are now both of my "at home" guns. I have a newer S/O at work.
I gave the weak one to the S/O guy a few weeks ago, to be sent in and reconditioned. I've done this before with other of my air tools. They have a "flat fee" where they replace anything/anything that they find a problem with for that fee. Sometimes they have kept mine that I sent in and swapped me for a different, but same-model, reconditioned tool.
This time, I sent the weak gun in and got it back in the same condition as I sent it in, with a note that they did not do anything with it. Something about "they do not support this product" , along with that check-box was gobbledy-gook about "products not made by Snap on"
HUH? so I followed my S/O guy out to the truck... he called the Repair Center... I guess this gun was not "made by" Snap on? Made FOR them, to their specs. This gun was made in 2000. I see "rebuild kits" for them on Ebay but don't know what all I will need or what all comes in this "kit".
Never heard of S/O not servicing any of their air tools. This thing is heavily engraved with their logo.... not thinly disguised, as MAC has increasingly become. the S/O guy had a "good used" trade in of the same impact that he offered to sell me, if I cant get mine fixed why would I want another?
Anyone know of a place I can send this gun? Do I HAVE TO deal with Snap on?
