Hey guys so last year i got my Mr. Heater big maxx installed and running and what a difference that made for my winter workability in the shop. Anyway temps are dropping fast here in Utah and i know it won’t be long before it will be time to fire her up in the early mornings to get the shop up to a comfortable work space until that mid morning sun has a chance to catch up. So with that in mind what do you guys normally do before the first season use with your heaters? Anything i need to be looking at before i fire her up? I don’t remember seeing anything in the directions when i did the install so i figured I’d ask the experts who have been doing this for a while. Thanks fellas

Interested in this as well. I know there can be some issues with the little vacuum hose getting cobwebs, etc.

I turned mine on 2 times during the summer to make sure it fired up. Was planning on taking panel off and just giving a gentle blast of compressed air to remove any dust that I'm sure has made it's way into the control panel...

Page 12 of the manual also additional checks:

All heaters of any type should be run before it gets cold in case you have issues and need a pro. Once that first freezing night happens it’s a three month wait

What does the manual say. A bit of compressed air around the ignitor and a vacuum for cleaning the cabinet/hx area should be sufficient. What does the manual say?
