Spotted this old spray bomb victim for sale. Looks like a major project. The heritage badge is still there on the bottom drawer of the top chest.

After passing on the spray bombed box, spotted this one and bought it.

Thanks smoke. I liked the top box on the other one but it would have been alot of work to fix. This one will go nicely with my 2 drawer top box.

Here is my Spray Bombed Craftsman Roller. Picked it up a few weeks ago with the Kennedy Chest for $80. I’m kind of liking the Black & Red combo! The Craftsman 8 drawer Roller is listed in the 1957 Hand Tool Catalog

Nice find OTG. Patience paid off! That logo looks brand spanking new. What's the date code?

Dave T: Love the 8d rollers! If you've gotta live with a spray bomb that isn't a bad one to live with. Somebody took their time with that and did a good job. I like it! Are you able to see the date code on it (inside the drawer behind the logo). The date code on mine is covered up by a partition and I'm wondering if they're all that way.

JCS: Is the date code directly behind the logo? If so I am not seeing one.

I consider the orange oval waterslide decals to be Heritage. If not Heritage it's Heritages Daddy. Here's some sets. The 1/2"d and 1/4"d on the left are both Circle U. The 3/8"d set is BE. Both 1/4" sets on the right are MDF Gen 1 box heads.

My pleasure. I'd say your box is 55, probably early 55. If I'm not mistaken the first year for 8d chests was 55 (top of my head without looking at the catalogs). The earliest date stamp I've seen is 55. I'd guess that your chest squeeked out of the factory before they started embossing them. If it was there you'd see it, you can't miss it. I can just make out "Chicago Illinois" above the partition in mine so I know mine got stamped, just can't see it.

Not sure if this square is Heritage? It was a glob of orange crust, but a soak in evaporust allowed me to get it apart.
A socket box joined the family. And a vise...maybe I already posted it.

I dug out a few of my heritage sets while I was putting away my flea market finds. The big box holds my misc. =v= stuff. The smaller box is a full set of circle h 1/2” and 3/8” drive stuff. Complete down to the cross bars.

Sweet sets. After seeing some of the dome tops joco posted I spotted this one. Still has the key and original paint so I grabbed it.

Spotted this one and two others on craigslist. One was spray bombed and the other was sold before I called. What surprised me was still had key.

I have had this box since 1974. It is date stamped 1955. It is brown because it had almost no paint when I got it and a rattle can of brown was all I had.

You did a good job on taping off all the chrome! Even though brown is not the nicest color for a box, you were careful in painting. Most boxes are just sprayed right over without masking anything, which looks horrible. Yours looks very straight!

it is nearly perfect. It has two original keys with it. I had to straighten the bottom drawer front a little and still binds slightly at fully closed. I riveted a 3/4" angle iron reinforcement across the bottom of the bottom drawer to correct a slight sag in the bottom. That is the only flaw in the box.

LS: Love that vise! I'd say your square is late 40s-50s. Pointy A, no part number and the blue paint.

MShaw: Great box and you did a great job painting it.

It looks like Sears was buying those squares from Miller’s Falls.
Here is a 1/4” drive set I found at a garage sale recently. Checking the 1954 catalog it looks like I’m missing the =v= sliding Tee if anybody has an extra.

Pardon my ignorance, but would these tools qualify as Heritage logo, thus I presume then would date them to 1958 or earlier?

I found this Heritage cad plated complete =v= 1/2” drive set at an estate sale this morning. I slightly overpaid but I hadn’t seen one before. The sockets in the second row are all 8 point.
