Actually it was Wile E. Coyote that ruined so many anvils...
So You're blaming the guy that got the anvils dropped on him for ruining them?

but thanks for the thought! been focused on getting some sort of organization, pics are vises that aren't clamp-ons, users or weigh more than 100#. had to get rid of some unimportant stuff (anything not vise or tool related) to make some room.I have a Jet vise with 5-inch jaws and a very different style than what you have pictured. I bought it new in the late 1970's, and haven't used it a whole lot, but man, it's a nice piece. I got it because it was advertised as being made from tool steel and manufactured in France, but memory is foggy beyond that.
Thanks Shift. Close on the car and color but it is a '66 in Vintage Burgundy (color code X). Excited to own this one day and then hand down to my son (along with the vise, of course!).

I’ve got a buddy that found a reed 406 R that he’s restoring. He sent me picks that the collar was broken but I assured him that it’s supposed to be a 2 Pc set up. What I’m not sure about is whether the main screw should be welded to the meatball? Any insight would be appreciated.
Bastel that is a beast of a vise!
Jeff- your Reed is a stunner, fabulous work
