How’s it going folks?
So a while back i stumbled on this site looking for some info on something (I don’t Remember what) lurked around for a bit and I was hooked. I found myself on the site regularly and I finally decided to join the site.
I always told myself that i was going to make a build thread and share my small accomplishments and have an actual spot for myself away from the house, where i could just leave my things and find them in the same spot the next day lol. Ive tried cleaning my garage before but between my mother in law and my self it becomes a frightful mess. I horde car parts and some tools my Mother in Law hordes everything else and the garage is my wife’s dumping ground for things she doesn’t want in the house.
So on to the pics!!

Believe it or not I had a full sized car parked in here maybe 3 weeks before I took these pics. I then added a shelf to “try” to prevent from having things appear in the garage.

After I took out the Benz I had in their i laid down some old plywood i had on the floor in just hoping no one would put things on top, boy was i wrong.
This year has been pretty ruff for me and i can honestly say that I have been trying not to admit that I’m actually depressed and my only comfort has been beer and alcohol, allot of beer.
We had a death in the family about two months ago and it made me take a good look at myself and I decided to put my energy into something else. I wont tell you guys that my garage stopped my drinking but it certainly has slowed it down. So I had a great drunk idea and said to myself i want to paint my floor I’m going to epoxy it and i began to empty out the garage. It took me about 3-5 days to empty it out. (It could of been done in one day....Maybe lol)

It’s the first running car that has ever, to my knowledge been parked inside the garage.
Now a little bit about the garage. My House was built in 1922 (i think, maybe 1923) My dad bought it from the original owner around 1985 i think, my mom bought it from him 02 and I inherited a big debt when she passed in 04. Young dumb kid with a new born I did all I could to stay afloat and raise my growing family at 22 years old. My father was a truck driver and I remember he left two Big rig motors inside the garage and 1 big rig frame with motor in the back yard and another one behind the garage, this floor has taken a beating. My father use to work on cars in the garage in the 80s and 90s and when I moved in 04 I worked on my car and a few of my friends cars.
I think this slab is about 30+ years its 23 1/2 x 19 1/2 so if my math is correct its about 459 sq ft .
My project started as I’m going to epoxy the floor and it quickly turned into “well since I’m already here, I mightiest will” project.
I started by grinding the floor down.

This was a result from grinding down the floor lol kinda looks like a skull, i like to think it kinda looks like the Punisher skull
I then began to tear down the drywall that had mold on it.

I’m sure its not up to code and I’m pretty sure I did a bunch of things that aren’t right but I had no leaks on my solder so I’m happy.
I replaced the moisture barrier scrubbed down the studs with bleach and water to try to kill the mold, patched up the stucco and I even sprayed termite poison on the studs
I then began to drywall and mud, i went with the mold and moisture resistant Drywall.

I’m leaving this area with no dry wall for the time being, my neighbor who’s an electrician is going to help me put in a breaker panned for the garage and figure out what their is no power to this 210 outlet .
After ALLOT of sanding I was sorta kinda ready for paint. I went down to my favorite Homedepot and i was lucky enough to find some decent already mixed 5 gallon paint for $30, SCORE form me! Unfortunately it was a little dark for a work area so I mixed some white into it and got this color

Sorry for such a long intro and thanks for sticking around to the end of it, ill continue to update as I move along in this never ending project.
On a Side note I’m using flickr to host my images, incase anyone is wondering. They let you upload 1000 images with their free account, and they don’t have pop ups or adds all over the place.
