What John said. Might even be 2050. [emoji16]

I do hope there’s a big dent by Valentines.

Breaking News!!!!

On 11-11-19 a project was actually finished in the Shorty Shed. Tune in at 11.

Finished wiring the grinder stand. Wired the stand with a heavy duty cord about 15’ long. While testing the power I found one off the toggle switch was set backwards so I rotated the switch and thought let’s give the paint crusted switch guard some blink. With the shiny guard, clean eye shields and a light completes the project.

I’m almost finished with the cordless charging station.

Not so fast there Shorty, did you come up a solution for the grinders not barking at each other and having a swarf fight.

You weren’t supposed to see that. For now, it is what it is. Project 846 is a resto of the grinders so I’ll tackle that then.

Ready for tin ? (Let me know. If not, I might do a car show on Saturday. )

Speaking of tin, look what the tin fairy brought today.

Another big project (95%) done and more freed up floor space. Thank you John for all your help. I’ll get your coupon for Miss Chen’s Massage Parlor in the mail.

The ceiling looks really good. Nice job. Now that you're a pro, come up to the land of ice and snow and help with mine?

The ceiling looks awesome!!! So whats this Mrs Chen's massage parlor you speak of :pimpflash

Thanks, does make the space. It’s ancient Chinese secret.
I was afraid to ask.

Hard to ask if you’re grinning from ear to ear.

Nice ceiling Shorty, I think the tin fairy might make another stop here at the Grove sometime in January.

John, don't ask, don't tell.

Mack, another road trip might be a good idea.

Yesterday I put away tools and screws from the ceiling project and broke out the spray cans. First up was to paint the PVC holders for the cordless charging station. No pics.
As I was short on each side of the ceiling by about 3-1/4” (3.256 & 3.375 lol) took John’s suggested and ran to Lowe’s for pre-primed moulding. I was going to go with a hammer tone silver so it blended with the tin but I thought about red to match the wall stripe. I had a yellow can in the cabinet staring at me with puppy dog eyes so....IMG_9040.jpg
This works how great for when the world turns upside down I’ll have safety stripes on the floor. I still need to bevel a couple of edges for installation.

Last on the list is this. IMG_9034.jpg I’m thinking there will be plenty of room for stuff. Big area 6000 sqft, back area 2000 sqft.

Forgot one quick project using newly completed grinder stand. I picked up this live center for the lathe. IMG_9036.jpg
Less than a minute on the EXL wheel, ended up with this. IMG_9037.jpg
Also got two sets of low casters similar to others I got for the tool cabinets. I was hoping for exact same but close enough. Cab on the right can give up its two furniture dollies now. IMG_9038.jpg

Shorty's Storage Rental Unit?

Great idea.

Hmmmmm, must be someone new He’s bamboozling out of shop space. LOL

I’m trying. Lol

The building is a gym and office space about 100 yds from my house. Every day I think how great a barndominum it would make. One can dream right?

Your name is Shorty isn't it? Or am I missing something?

Can you elaborate on the EXL wheel?

Coming up short on projects is always my luck.

I first learned about the EXL from Jack Olsen and thought I’d give it a try. It is a deburring wheel (fine) from 3M. It’s fantastic at deburring and can polish up stuff. I have found it will take material away so not actually good for polishing. There is also a finishing wheel that I want to get for finish/polish.
https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/compan.../?N=5002385+3293241548+3294857497&rt=rud
I use it all the time and think it’s worth the money.

I hear that barndominum's are quite the rage nowadays, especially for city dwellers who don't have land to have a proper garage. Sounds like a good dream.

Not much to report since I’m still under the weather a bit. I did finish up painting and trimming the trim. Kinda hard trimming a 12’ piece of trim in a 8’ workspace. 14d302c145c5ad15d85e1b311a6dcffb.jpg
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the same paint for the second coat so instead of Corvette yellow, it will be yellow (rear pieces).

I also cut in the grey wall color so I don’t have to worry with getting paint on the new yellow trim once installed 777182a775a6858c3d54b87ff66b60f0.jpg
Last, drilled a bunch of pocket holes and assembled the base of the future table saw bench. b55688b9378c8c323d8e40512ebb650d.jpg

Looks like cold weather this week so it’s parka and shorts for the week.

Parka and shorts, too funny. I hope feel better soon.

Funny but true some days. Mom laughs when I show up wearing a coat, shorts and flip flops. Thankful I’m finally feeling close to normal. (No comments from the FC peanut gallery)

Welcome to Greenbow Alabama where stupid is what stupid does.

I put an ad for SL on Craigslist and FB Marketplace and after the customary spam replies, I had a guy come look at the car. He was really interested but wanted to test drive the non-cranking car. I told him I’d work on it this weekend.
Saturday I actually had to wear long pants and a light jacket. [emoji853] First stop was buying a new battery for the SL. No start but I knew that. With car sitting outside, next was breaking out the jack and jack stands, yay! The wife assisted with shifter operation while I was pressed underneath ensuring the orientation of the shift linkage. Still no start. Only two things I can think of is neutral safety switch issue or starter lock out issue. When she ran to get lunch I watched a video of replacing the shift bushing. Watching that, I realized I had the bracket on inside out. Stupid! Fixed it and still no start, errrrrr!
Reading the owner’s manual, I tried resetting the door locks. No start still. Wife was ready to haul car to the junkyard.
Saturday night was spent searching the web for a hint. I finally came across a video that mentioned an arm that has to align with the shift bracket. Eureka! I didn’t align any arm so I was looking forward to tomorrow.
Sunday was a repeat except I’m in T-shirt and shorts, yay! With car up on stands I find this. 4365bc40de068ad481c5c4e32d6a8ead.jpg the black plastic arm is what links the bracket and neutral safety switch. I’m feeling stupid and elated. Now a pro, the bracket was quickly removed and correctly installed. 0380ddad33d8f303c1071c2a8d291a56.jpg Being confident in my stellar Benz abilities, I put the car back on the ground, turned the key and....no start. Just kidding. It fired right up and I took it for a short spin. Yay!!!!!
Hopefully the sale of the car occurs this week.

Being energized with the SL finally moving under its own power, it was clean up time. Had some 3phase pump motors that I wanted to scrap. A quick trip to the bandsaw, I was able to get the windings out. 548f46e12558ce909aaa5d08c1a23e97.jpg Loving the Powermatic 143.

Also had a junk HF grinder and realized there was windings in it. As I disassembled it, I was talking like Ave. lol. Found out why it failed. 73ac6008c691829586bbbddbe52597ce.jpg Gear stripped. Look at that smooze.

Cleaned up the bench and woodworking area, also. I’m finally moving in a forward direction.
