They won't interchange. Entirely different.

Stooge, those DT kits are cheap, in my opinion. I have the 1/2 and the 3/8 (really reasonable at Circle C) and like them both. SK roundheads 1/4 drives are so fine I didn't bother with that size.

Yeah, Im leaning towards getting the new 2 footer 24" fixed head ratchet, so when I order that, I'll add a 1/2" upgrade mechanism for my 17" flex round head and a 3/8 for one of my handful of 7" round heads. the 24" and the 17" flex should supplement each other pretty well.

Well, not sure what this means but just got a small order of the LP90 3/8" drive ratchets and they came in like this.

Disclaimer: my eyes aren't the best, and my memory worse. The green selector looks great, also (see disclaimer above) looks different from the "1st Gen" LP90s. I'll have to take a look at mine, but I think the green selector appeared to be painted while the one in the above pic looks like they used a different process.

Love the look of those LP90's. Gonna have to pick one up from HJE. Would like to pick it up in person but I'm not sure when I'll be in KC next. May have to break down and order and have it shipped.

Why is the 24 not a flex head like my snapon? When working on lugs it helps having the flex head. Let alone the locking flexhead.. just asking if they had that I would buy one... I have both snapon and I remember selling a locking on here for cheap like 125... that was dumb.. and it was new.

I think SK might err on the side of caution and fewer warranty returns. With the fixed head, they're most likely looking at repair kit versus a whole ratchet if you went medieval with it. Even SK's 1/2 drive ninety tooth flex seems short at 15 inches:dunno:

On a side note, I feel that Armstrong and Matco are the only ones with a decent locking mechanism on their locking flex head ratchets but, that's just me

Jori, thanks for doing the Garage Journal Special:thumbup: You made my Christmas:beer:

Jori, so the items already listed on you website can be ordered today and will be shipped when received? I have 3 SK items in my cart ( 80182, 80280, 80290) but I don't want to pay for this stuff then have SK back order the items.

The items can be ordered. SK has told us the shipment is on its way. Is it possible that they'll backorder things? Sure. Not making any promises about having any of this stuff by Christmas but I'll keep you guys in the loop and let you know first thing when the shipment arrives. Normally we don't like posting stuff that we don't physically have in the store, but thought I should get it out there so you could see the prices and what SK was offering.

Also should mention that these prices aren't a holiday special. These are just your prices going forward so if you're strapped for cash because of the holidays, don't worry about missing out.

I will be honest with you. I have a 15 inch Matco 3/8 drive ratchet and a Tekton 24 inch 90 tooth ratchet sitting in my too cart and I almost always reach for something shorter most of the time but, I still have them though :bounce:

Jori,

Please ping me (us) if the 1/4" flexes come in with the GREEN selector. If so, I am in for one immediately.

Thank you.

Well, your logic wore me down and I didn't order the 2-foot 1/2" drive ratchet. Decided to go with 4" and 15" 3/8" drive ratchets since I don't have those lengths in my collection.

I’m trying to decide on whether or not to get the 24” 1/2 drive ratchet. I know that snap on moved their 1/2 ratchet cover plate screws on the dual 80s to the back of the ratchet head for a through screw design after experiencing them loosening. Has anyone here experienced this with SK’s cover plate coming loose? Thanks.

Your chart says 8" on the 1/4 flex and the site has a 5"? I assume there will be two?

I don't think so. The SK website shows the 1/4 flex 80280 being 5 inches long.

https://sktools.com/shop/1-4-drive-lp90-flex-head-teardrop-ratchet.html

The SK website only lists one 1/4 drive flex head ratchet. :dunno:

The SK website does list an eight inch long 1/4 drive fixed head ratchet though.

https://sktools.com/shop/1-4-drive-lp-90-teardrop-ratchet-8-inch.html

SK also offers a 12 inch long fixed head 1/4 drive ratchet.

I ended up buying the 3/8 11" flex today. I told myself I was going to hold off but my will power failed me.
