I just got home with a beautiful little Bull Dog that I found today.
Outstanding, I'm jelly.

Coming from you I really appreciate the the complement, I've seen your work. I'm a huge fan of your stands and it was difficult to do something you haven't already done. I really want to copy your helix someday but, I just don't have the time.
Thank you!
Thanks,
Dreaming up fresh design is challenging, but oh so rewarding when it hits the mark, like yours.
I'll say it again, well done.
The helix was interesting, fun to lay out and build, other than all the finish grinding.

You bet Dave,
I would be interested in knowing the vintage of the 93. Royce
Firstram, thanks
Shift, that little Prentiss looks cherry
KMS, thanks. I’ve got an interesting find to post today.
The Tradesman models had stick on labels that said “Wilton” or “SnapOn”.

So here it is, the straw that broke the camels back. Reed vise no. 302. The vise has 2” jaws and weighs in at 13 Lbs. The vise is shown in as found condition but I think I can get the jaw to swivel.

Columbian 504.This one was a first for me. My first fixed base vise as well as my first vise with smooth jaws. Let me tell you, trying to grind out some of the damage to the top of the jaws was not easy! That is some hard steel.
I think this one is going to get rotated into use for me. I forgot to take a before picture but it was in pretty good shape. It had some pretty large grinding marks on the front and back of the jaw towers. I used to be pretty indifferent to the Columbian vises. For whatever reason they don't seem to be listed for as much money as the other brands on CL. Now it's become one of my favorites. Some of you may recognize the paint theme![]()

Fierljeppen might be able to help you out. I'm sure he will reply later today.
Does anyone have a Cardinal Speed Vise they need to part with?
Cardinal made a few bench vises but mostly drill press vises.---Which are you referring to?
