Not really though it can be used as a nice fishing weight or a projectile. : )

However, knowing our GJ love for tools: attached to the wall of the garage, framed or part of rare collection of all possible 27mm wrenches from all over the world

I wonder where those nuts and bolts might be located in cars, trucks, etc

lower ball joint in my SUV for one. If you aren't using it, I'll pay the postage.

I specifically bought one years ago because it fits the rear axle nut on my motorcycle, and I was tired of using the stamped-steel one in the factory tool bag to change a tire.

What's with all the threads "what do you use a ** size wrench for? :headscrat

The wrench is used on the fastener that it properly fits. Sometimes items have large, small and a mixture of sizes. So you have to have a wrench that fits one.

I'm wondering the same about the adjustable wrench threads lately. Where do you use those? I have some of them, keep a small and a large one in my car "in case of", but can't remember last time I actually used one.

I picked up a USA raised panel craftsman 27mm on clearance at my sears when they were in business . 27mm is close to 1 1/16. Mtec shifter springs for Scion FR-S, Toyota 86, and suburu BRZ use 27mm on one side of transmission and 10mm hex on the other. I did all the manual transmission mods to my FRS except this one. They use loctite and I don’t want it falling in transmission while cleaning the threads. Bolt wouldn’t start unless threads clean. Here’s a video. https://mtecind.com/pages/scion-frs-subaru-brz-toyota-gt-86-shift-spring-install

In most of the metric standards (not the JIS / Japanese) it’s the standard bolt head size for an 18mm bolt!

I find it quite a lot working on European vehicles. I’ve a feeling that 18mm is not a preferred size in the ANSI (American) system, so probably not found so much there!

I work in the field completely unrelated to using mechanical tools. I am collecting and restoring tools for hobby and relaxation. Sometimes I have leads on a tool with a larger size which I do not know if it might be useful for me in the future. Thus I ask for knowledge from more experienced members.
Besides enjoying collecting and restoring tools, one of my goals is also to start a car project once my kid is older and I move to a place with more garage space.
I would agree if somebody told me to just go and buy full sets. It would be easier, but not interesting...

Why are you posting in this thread if it bothers you that much? Ignore it and move on

A 27mm bolt.

Sorry I'm at work and needed to be a smart a** to something. I honestly have no idea. I just got a 7mm-22mm wrench set. I'll find a use for it someday but at least I have it.

Well, I do know a 30mm is used to remove the nut that holds the flywheel on a 7000 watt emergency generator. I assume a slightly smaller engine would use a 27mm.

Off the top of my head I can't give an example, but I use 27 mm wrenches and sockets pretty often that I consider it a required size to have, at least for me.

When changing oil on my 911 gt3rs the dry sump tank requires a 27mm to hold the tank drain flange while using smaller wrench on the drain plug... to keep from tweaking the tank sheet metal.

And sometimes as a hammer

Thank you! Greatly appreciate it! Please keep it coming.
I made an offer and am waiting for an answer. It's a 60s wrench, but seems to be in good condition based on couple of pictures. (asked for more pictures as original pictures had a missed spot). Will show it if I get it.
