Ridgid Battery, open up

So I stumbled yesterday on a local classified deal for 5 ridged tools with a dead battery. Didn't care for anything really but the reciprocating saw that was in the deal, as I already had a set of Ridgid Tools and batteries etc.

So now that I got all these tools and I am trying to pawn off, I looked at the battery an its actually one of those double sized ones. The battery is from 2011, its a 18V, Li-ion.

I charged the battery and it seems to charge, all green icons. No red indicators. Once fully charged and put in the tool - nothing. I took my volt meter and measured across the +, -, T1 and T2 terminals and all read 18V +.

Any experts out there what might be the issue? I've googled it and everyone appears to have a issue where the thing won't charge but that doesn't appear to be my problem. Any help is greatly appreciated as always!

If the impact driver is up for grabs I might be interested. Can’t help with the battery though. Sorry.

Notice that there are more than 2 terminals on that battery. Two terminals supply power to the tool. Others monitor battery voltage and if it gets too low the tool is shut off. Lithium batteries sustain permanent damage if the battery is discharged too far. If there is a connection problem with one of the monitor pins, the tool monitor circuit may not be seeing the 18 volts and the tool will not run.

Yes, and those other terminals are labeled T1 and T2. I measured voltages across them all shows 18V and some.

The other terminals may not be battery voltage, which seems a bit redundant, but maybe some kind of status like temperature.

All my batteries that old work only to power flashlights for a few minutes. I wouldn't expect any li battery from 2011 to work to power tools..
