That pouch design is atrocious. If that's really how Mahew designed it. . . Just, wow!
That's what I'm saying. It's not the one in the ads and how the hell could someone actually design and manufacture that?
And it's on par with most of the punches.

Is Amazon prime buying factory QC reject sets or something?
I have been looking for weeks, watching this thread and contemplating. I have a bunch of Mayhew products and have been happy with them. I ordered my set from Home Depot online as they were the least expensive I was able to find. I just got the 12 piece set and it was delivered yesterday. The pouch is just like the one shown above. I will need to check tomorrow and see if the punches are straight.
ETA....
The pouch has a flap that folds over like the one in question....
FXR..... Thanks for making me go look! I didn't see your video because it was gone when I popped in this evening but I walked to the shop and I have 5 out of 12 that are not straight as the distance of the tip deviates from the workbench when rolled. Furthermore, I thing a couple of the ends may not even be ground perpendicular to the shaft.
This is a first for me, a issue with a Mayhew product.
This is a sample size of two of two that are not right so for the time being, I would consider putting a hold on purchasing these sets. I will follow up with any input from Mayhew and I am sure FXR will continue to as well.
Just curious, did you buy your set on AMZN too?

Nope, Home Depot.
A roll pin punch is not a pin punch. A roll pin punch has a little hemisphere on the end of what appears to be a normal pin punch. This fits into the hollow end of the roll pin centering the punch. Don't see why a normal pin punch wouldn't work (they always have for me) it's just that they are indeed considered to be two different tools.
