Any updates? In the market for one currently.
I know I'm probably too late but I do have an update.
I went with Genie 6070H and 6170H-B (just for the battery feature on my wife's door, I have no use for the wifi). Installation wasn't bad. I did it as a high-lift retrofit so it took a couple days but there was other work too.
I have had a few problems with them. On the 6170H-B (wifi) I occasionally find the door randomly left open. I do have kids so I can't say definitively that it wasn't kids but there is at least 1 time I'm 99.9% certain it wasn't. We had gone on vacation, it snowed while we were gone. Came home to find the one wifi door open, but no snow in the garage (indicating the door opened itself after the snowstorm had passed). We live 1/2 mile off the road, almost a mile from the nearest house and we don't have internet. I can't see how anything could have opened it, no chance of a hacker through wifi, very little chance of interference. It hasn't happened in a while though. The other opener randomly stopped working 1 time, no idea why. The trouble code/guide indicated the opener needed to be replaced. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, reprogrammed it, and it has been fine since then.
I will also say Genie has lost their mind on price, these are now more expensive than LM 8500 openers. They have 6072 & 6172 openers that are much more affordable but I haven't looked into those yet.
My house was recently zapped by lightning and it smoked both openers. I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I think I will order a single replacement opener and pull the board and swap into a smoked opener to see if that fixes it. If so, I'll just get 2 replacement boards then have a spare opener. Outside of that, I don't think I would buy Genie again. At the attractive price point of 2020, yes. At today's price, no!
