ClimateCreator: that box has some great lines! Nice find
Thanks, that's what caught my eye was the character, not even worrying about what brand it was but now the mystery box must be named! Lol

That'd be my guess. I see them or boxes like them fairly often. ClimateCreator can attest, but I think the gauge of the steel is too thin for tools.Maybe a tackle box?
Yeah it is! That is a terrific looking corner/section of your shop. I remember when you found the cabinet and I identified it as a WWII era 41-C-15 for you, but I didn't remember or it didn't really register with me that it was made by Lyon. So I went back and found your original post announcing the Facebook find. Is it actually marked Lyon?I got the cabinet hung on the wall tonight. The green color is a nice match with the 14-C-15 Lyon military cabinet.

Yeah I agree it definitely is unique. No it doesn't matter who made it either but it is definitely nice to know. Indeed being from CT I'm very aware of Corbin.....Climatecreator, that is a beautiful box. Doesn't matter what it was intended for, it has elegant lines.
As you probably know, Corbin was the manufacturer of the lock. They probably have no other connection to the maker.
It's actually petty stout. Weighs 5 lbs empty. Plus all that paneling they did really stiffened it up. The dividers I think we're removed so they could use it line a tool box, whoever painted it I'm guessing. It appears to be missing feet? Guessing by the holes in each corner. That'd be my guess. DaveT That is a great cabinet. I had been looking for some lab cabinets with sliding doors but I ran across a 6' long one for 5 bucks and it has regular doors so I kind of gave up on the sliding doors. I found two other lab cabinets and painted the big one to match them, now I have about 12' with regular doors, I am happy but I would have much preferred sliding I think. The bench top is 16' of bowling alley. I am still deciding which vises to bolt down to it, the 4C is so damn big and it takes so log for the handle to go around... I am also DaveT BTW.
Old cabinets are killer. Ill have to dig up some photos of a few of mine

NICEGot this at a garage sale on Sunday last day for it rolls like butter and at least 80lbs. Couldn’t pass on it for $20

Here is my Bear Mfg. Co. cabinet I just picked up this afternoon. Original paint and no dents! Pretty good shape for the age, which I believe to be late 40's or early 50's.

I had this cabinet given to me. I thought initially it was ice box however no insulation. Seems maybe a medical cabinet. Possibly for day use as inside has drain
We need inside photos too! Even if it is only shelves or open like a broom closet!![]()
Here is a couple of my other cabinets. The Delco was a Craigslist find that I have had for a couple years now, and the Anco I won from a local online auction.

Was it for sale?
Got my free roadside find from a few days ago cleaned, moved downstairs, and stocked with keyblanks!
