How easy are E Types to come by in the states then, its getting harder to find decent ones over here and when you do they are stupid money.

My personal feeling is that E-Types have taken a little bit of a hit over the last few years on this side of the pond. I think, in part, due to the economy downturn over here and partly due to the fact that stupid money now is going to '60s and '70s muscle cars (and old Corvettes). I'm basing most of this on watching the trends on the Barrett-Jackson car auctions over the past several years. Pristine E-Types that went for over $100,000 four or five years ago are now going for $75,000. Muscle cars, on the other hand, are going through the roof.
I haven't kept track of what E-Types are going for on ebay recently but I think a decent E-Type can be had for between $12 to $20,000 (I'll let you do the conversion to British Pound
To me the E-Type looks as good today as it did when it first hit the road.
