I walk into the local Lowes yesterday to buy a quart of bar and chain oil. Sitting near the front door are two shopping carts each one holding a black glass cook top. I stop to look at them sine I've been wanting to replace our old white glass cook top because all th other appliances in the kitchen are black and the white looks out of place. It's also a cheap unit with knobs.
So, I'm looking at the LG cook top marked with a list price of $999 marked down to $450 when a salesman walks up to me and says, "I can give you a better price for that". I ask how much and he responds with "How about $250". I say OK but can he hold it for about half an hour. I don't tell him but I want to run down to Kroger and buy a $250 gift card which is good for 1,000 fuel points for $1.00 a gallon off the next time I fill the cars. He says he'll hold it.
I ask him to verify the size of the cook top. While he goes to get a tape measure I'm thinking he offered $250 really quick. So when he gets back I ask if he would let me have it for $200. Without hesitation he says, "Sure, if you take it now". Done.
Our Lowes is remodeling it's appliance section so all the old display units are on deep discount.
What I got. Not bad for the price.

Im not knocking the deal you got and i certainly dont know your situation.
I personally look at an opportunity like that as what's my gain vs risk here.
Your risks include someone else coming by while youre away and buying at $450 or less, when youre already at 75% off. Also spending 30 mins of your time plus gas cost.
Youre looking to save what, $35? (At $1/gal x at most 35 gal).
Not saying right or wrong, but may not be worth the effort for some. Especially since you were able to grab an extra $50 off.

I'm retired with pretty much all the time in the world, especially since the Covid19 outbreak caused us to cancel a cruise through the Panama Canal, our annual trip to Hawaii and our usual road trips this year.

I picked up one Dremel Go driver at my local store for $24.03 minus the 5% discount of using their credit card. I have it home and now second guessing my purchase.
I have a nicer Hitachi cordless screwdriver purchased from Lowe's a few years ago when alerted by Garage Journal of it being on sale.
Does anyone have experience with this Dremel Go? Does it have a unique use that makes it worth keeping?
My local store has one more on the shelf, if anyone is nearby and wants it.

My opinion, is the $24 you paid is what it should have cost before clearance.

I returned it for a refund because I couldn't see how it was any better than the power screwdriver that I already have.

I saw a young man heading to his car with one of these, with a clearance tag so out of curiosity, I asked about it (I wasn't looking for one). He said that he has bought a few of these whenever they go on sale as he uses them to build "mini dirt bikes"... and that they'll hit 30mph. I wish I had more info on his project, but it was just a fleeting thing. You have to appreciate creativity.

Just picked up three @ 22 and change. This is after searching, and trying to have an associate help (they were useless). Finally just put in the online order, and turns out they keep them somewhere strange (behind CS, Lockup?). Even though website said one, I asked if they had others, and bought all. Two for our cars, and one for family.
So if you cant find them, ask CS.

Lots of cleaning supplies on clearence, I specifically went in for this and almost walked out in frustration until I noticed the clearence rack full of chemicals. Low and behold... they moved aisles and drastically cut the shelf space down
