Had an outbreak of ambitious behavior & accomplished an oil & filter change on the ZRX11. Took all day as I had a 3 hour break after I removed the drain bolt,
Then another 3 hour break after I loosened the filter cover to drain that bit.
Late this afternoon I fitted the new filter & drain bolt & actually put most of the oil in it.
Still still have to check the level again after it runs, but that will have to wait until I change the plugs.... which is scheduled for *sometime before December 19th* as we have a ride planned for the 20th.

I’ve been searching for a regular cab ‘06–‘09 Tacoma and finally found one for sale. I look forward to doing a full detail and making it look like new. It needed new tires so I pulled the OEM wheels off and painted them as close to the original silver as I could. I then went and had new tires put on. Next I will be be detailing the wheel wells. The fun has begun.

I checked the antifreeze on the forklift and the 843 Bobcat. I also tore into the 843 looking for a hydraulic oil leak that had been getting progressively worse. Found a loose fitting tightened it up only to find the hose was leaking up stream. I removed the hose and called it quits for the evening. Just need a new hose and we will be back in business.

Earlier in the day I cleaned up the scrap metal pile outside, raked all the neighbors leaves away from my building and ground them up with the 704 wheelhorse.

Stripped the old White (yellowish) icicle lights off the add-on-hanging-fascia-boards and mounted new C9 sized LED lights so it will look old school without the energy cost. (probably save some $$ over the Icicle lights as well) I had to cut and put in connectors for each board section so they can be hung in the garage.

I had about 10 left over on the garage run, and decided to extend that section and put those into a outdoor wreath, that will hang conveniently on the garage corner next to the entry walkway. I need to go look at Wreaths tomorrow...

Was almost non-stop productive for 12 hours, including the final mow of the year for the front yard. Winterize stuff, move things to shed, swap to the snow tires on both cars, create a small pile for a local scrap guy (who donates proceeds to different causes), started on my tomahawk block project, etc etc etc

Reaching the point of removing more items than I add and get closer to a 5S state. We have a large garage, but a small workshop for me, so it is critical to use space wisely.

I swept the garage to get it ready for winter.

For the projects:
- Added an epoxy filled ignition coil
- Added an engine ground strap
- Changed out the distributor springs on the new MSD distributor.

Finally removed the forms from where I poured concrete on Thursday and then moved some thing around to take advantage of my new floor space. It seems so much roomier in there since I can roll things through the whole garage.

There's something wrong with those pegs. The tips aren't all ground off on a bevel...

:lol_hitti

Tommy
They're about 4in higher & further back than stock. Dragging those pegs will mean I've already ridden off the edge of the tire. A ZRX will lean this far without scraping those rear-sets:

Mounted a new combination 7 pin/4 pin trailer plug on the Tundra, and replaced the headlights with LEDs (with popper projector housings as well, to not blind oncoming traffic. I refuse to be “that guy”)

You steal a can of paint from Jack Olsen ?

Not much here, just got a fire going in the wood burner, trying to put some heat in the concrete. I was going to do some stuff today but we had the "granddog" for longer than what I thought we'd have him.

yeah, two 80 lb yellow lab knuckleheads running the house :willy_nil

I REALLY like what you did. What is the red square container on the right used for?

It looks very good, BUT (lol) my OCD gets pings a bit seeing the squares in the upper left corner of the pegboard not the same distance from the edge of the pegboard as the levels. Which by the way, why not mount those vertically? Only take a single hook for that. I like pegboard when it is done neatly like you've done. Can't stand it when guys let it become a catchall and just hang sh!t any old way.

Actually his color is deeper than Jack's. I like it though. Very clean looking.

I have the granddog living with us now too. Son is going school full time and working full time, has 1/2 custody of the sweetest, smartest granddaughter ever who adores the dog and the dog adores her too. He's huge - 1/2 Doberman and 1/2 German Shepherd but a gentle giant. He's almost 12 now, nearing the end of his life. I suspect he's got cancer, I know he's got tendon damage to one of his back legs. He moves very slowly now but we love on him daily and I give him a single aspirin at night so he can sleep without pain. Time grows short for him, sad.

Thx Dan. Appreciate the friendly comments and noted about the ocd aspects of it (lol). The red square has a various assortment of cleaning scrubs and wash clothes for the sink.

Sorry for the crappy picture. It makes my truck look likes it's chopped, ugh.

Finally got around to hanging the retractable extension cord today.

Also organized a bunch of stuff in the garage but none of that shows.

Hung a small piece of pegboard next to my compressor and "new" Tektonik hose reel. Had to rip some 1x's for a perimeter frame for it - to mount blow guns & tire inflators. But of course since everything isn't organized yet I couldn't find my box of pegboard hooks to hang them!

Pretty much lol. I just love that old school green.

Its BEHR ‘Old Vine’ btw. I got it in a few quartz and custom ordered spray cans.

I like the color but I would have everything else painted black and either tan/brown to go with it.

Too close to OD green for me. :D

New LED Xmas light for the house:

Yesterday I stripped the aging LED "icicle" lights off the hanging fascia boards they lived on (5 boards; disconnect each partial string and hang from hooks under the eaves or from the rafters in the garage), and replaced with "C9" sized multi-color LEDs, we are long overdue for a change there... So now we are into the old school look...

It takes a little time to mount all the lights on the boards but its a one time deal, then I had to insert connectors from string to string at the junction of each board (3 places, with a forth pending) after than putting them up or taking then down is quick! -It will be even quicker without the dangley icicle wires and bulbs tangling...

Today the al went up (needed help for the garage peak as we do that from the ground and have to simultaneously put an eye screw over a long deck screw...)

I still want to do something with the 10 left over from the over the garage peak set that currently I "used up" down the corner of the garage. (I used 2 strings for the whole thing) and I looked for a suitable wreath, and would have added an extension to the 10 would be in the wreath, but that were either unsuitable or stupid $$ for a decent one. Maybe something else? I can get white/clear covers so maybe a snowflake or something?

Thank you, and all people you face thank you!

Not sure which is worse, oncoming, or in the rear view mirror...

Continued organizing, purging, and thinking about why I have to much stuff out there.
On the plus side, it looks a ton cleaner and more open! :)

busy weekend.

LOF and rotate on my kids 2014 challenger. and found out i need pinchweld adapters so I can pick that boat up with my quickjack. that just made me mad lol. then i helped him wax it.

Then pulled the LF tire off my avalanche to get patched. While it was off i pulled the inner fender out so i could loosen the hidden headlight bolt. I also had to loosen the top of the nose/bumper so i could pull the headlight assem out enough to get my hands in to get the bulb out. then I could change that damn DRL bulb that has been out Stupid design by GM.

Friday took my youngest to pick up some used weights & a bench he wanted. Saturday i took the old cast weights and cleaned & painted them. And painted some car parts while i was there.

all while my nephew was doing my kitchen back splash and then some trim in our kitchen and family room. I had to help him at times, and make supply runs. what he did in a weekend would have taken my unskilled self weeks. I know my skills lol. Now i have to paint.

And sold off some old car stereo stuff so i could then buy some old cars parts i needed for my 67 camaro. need to get that car mobile.

Made a set of tire covers for the plow truck. The sun here destroys everything in short order. Better than the pieces of propped up plywood I had & wont rot like the bought versions.

Looked at a reservoir I had to see if I can use it for the hydraulic clutch that's going in the Malibu. Nope. 1/4" hose. I need 5/16". I don't think the reservoir itself is large enough anyway. One more thing to put on the project car shopping list...

I finished the set up of my Twin Busch mid-rise lift.

Now I just need to get things moved around and get a car on it. First real job is going to be replacing the front brakes on my daughters car.

If you like BBQ and haven't tried it, 'The Slick Pick' is must! We performed some work at General Mills. The small BBQ joint was suggested by one of the maintenance crew. It was so good we dined there for lunch and then a second time for dinner. They were closed on Sunday and we were headed out early Monday. Had to have it a second time during the trip. Amazing!!!
