If you like BBQ and haven't tried it, 'The Slick Pick' is must! We performed some work at General Mills. The small BBQ joint was suggested by one of the maintenance crew. It was so good we dined there for lunch and then a second time for dinner. They were closed on Sunday and we were headed out early Monday. Had to have it a second time during the trip. Amazing!!!
Slick Pig? Yeah, out on East Main. They've been around for longer than I can remember. There are a handful of hole in the wall spots in the 'Boro to get outstanding food. That's one of them.

Installed the replacement blower motor in my Hot Dawg. Nice to have heat again, but I still can't believe the $150 price tag for this 1/12 HP motor.

Damn, I'm good...

Did the oil change a few days ago. Gave it the "TLAR" amount. Fired it up today to fill the filter housing etc. Turned it off & walked away while the oil settled. Just went to see how much I have to add & the it's EXACTLY on the upper line in the oil window :rocker:

Yesterday I finally got around to painting the European-spec front bumper cover for my M3. Assembled and installed it today. Now I gotta wash the dirty thing so it will actually blend in with the shiny new bumper.1d168013d554fcbad6bc0336c12e76bd.jpg8e0251e8904191db987453009dc396a4.jpg

Not trying to be a jerk, but what about it is "Euro Spec"? Last time I checked, all BMWs use 5 mph bumpers just like the DOT spec cars...

Finally got some thin plywood to play with on the laser. Hoping to cut out some Christmas ornaments for family.

My little laser took 9 passes to get through the 3mm plywood. 6cd052e084733b139d4a0a6d6d84f7f0.jpg

They're the same except for no reflectors on the European model. North American spec models have amber reflectors and the resulting holes in the corners. Company I work for used to have a bumper remanufacturing plant in Mexico that somehow came up with an out-of-market core that I had them run a couple years ago.

Could do the same thing by filling the holes in a domestic market cover, but this one came that way.

FINALLY went out in the shop today. Fell on my *** getting into the shower and screwed up an already bad back. I hated laying inside, with great weather outside and not able to play. I went to Lowes and HD today and spent a few hours watching the game and cleaning in the shop.

Disassembled a Columbian Vise for my college project. Made a post about it in one of the other forums, so if anybody knows a bit about these things, check it out.

Got a new car and put it "in" the garage...lol. Now I gotta figure out if I am getting rid of any cars.

Lexus RCF. First time I've ever owned a naturally aspirated 8 cylinder.

I test drove a black 19' and it put a smile on my face. Showed me a 2020 on the lot that had every option I had built online for the last month. Bought the white one.

I thought my STi was fast/quick. This is on another level to me. Super comfortable, and 472hp. I already want to do an exhaust just to hear it more...lol. I'm currently getting 10.3mpg with it. Also debadged the RC letters from the back and just kept the F. Don't mind the residue still left. I gotta detail the car after Thanksgiving.

Spent last weekend doing some maintenance on the Mrs truck.

New plugs

cfb9185628539a4722ab4b6e8d3fa6f9.jpg

New air filter and also new shocks and struts all the way around. That made a dramatic difference. It drives much nicer now.

I also tinkered with an old SK ratchet and a Millers Falls micrometer I recently picked up at an estate sale. The ratchet was cruddy, a quick disassemble and clean made a big difference. I need to find out how to make the ball detent on the square drive work again (or replace it). I don’t see how to open that. The spring is gone, and sockets fall right off.

The micrometer was rusted solid from sitting in a drawer in the garage. I got the turn barrel off pretty easy. It took all day of heating with a torch and spraying PB Blaster in there for it to free up. About once an hour or so I’d hit it again. Now it’s cleaned up, and turns very smoothly. I need to source an 8-36 machine screw to hold the barrel on, and I can put it into service.

Oil change on my truck and prettied up the Mrs' ride. Hadn’t been able to give it the attention it needed for a while.
The garage just passed final not too long ago. Need to run lights and insulation this winter.

Today I did the final hookup of my renovated Hunter TCA34 tire changer and Hunter GSP9700 balancer. I have been picking away at little things but finally ran the dedicated airline and tied them both in to it. This is my "hobby garage."

Didn't inform me they were leaving. Didn't ask if I wanted something to eat. Didn't know if both were dead inside the house. I was pissed !
Only when they got back did they say they went to get something to eat. I had been locked out in my lounge pants and slippers for a good 20 mins.

Tore into our kitchen hand mixer to find out why it just died while I was using it to mix up a batch of brownies.
I first cleaned the whole inside as flour powder coated everything.
I cleaned all the speed contacts with CRC contact cleaner.

Tryed to run it again and nope...as if a overload protector was tripping a failsafe, hmmmm.....
how-to-repair-small-appliances-39.jpg

But there isn't a trip protection device I could see, then it dawned on me when the unit was failing, I could press the surge button and it would start running again. These hand mixers have a button on the handle to allow you a extra burst of power to power thru your mix.
Tore into the surge switch and verified it was fried!
I bypassed the switch, no surge option now but ...."IT WORKS!"
YAY! I got another on order so this will be a back up or I may add it to my tool shelf for mixing paint.

UGH, this may be tomorrow's "What Did (I) Do....":dunno:

Well, it happened...and it ain't over yet!

If Outlawmws can post about hanging Christmas lights ON his garage then I guess I can too. Besides, I took them out of their boxes IN the garage!:bounce:

Just got back from Home Depot for MORE lights to hang on the right side of this picture where there are none.

Also spread the mulch you see around the new cast concrete on left side of garage. Yes, the new mulch makes the old look bad so I'll go get more of it tomorrow!

Started up old Johnny #5 (Hyster forklift) to access the large step ladder behind it. She started pretty hard and didn't seem to have much power. I adjusted what 'I believe' is the main mixture screw out two turns. This seemed to give the engine better acceleration and a more powerful sounding rpm. Have to investigate more. Hopefully this adjustment also helps on cold starts. Will test again tomorrow.

After the 12' step ladder was accessible I worked on the gutters. Cleaned the shop, the small yard barn and the entire house. Happy it's all complete as usual I wish I would done it earlier. It was a little chilly and dark. I missed the ice though.

I also drained my garden hoses utilizing the 'fireman's walk'. PSA don't forget to disconnect your garden hoses from their spigots if you live in cold weather climate.

I undertook an extremely complex, delicate operation on the Explorer today.
I replaced the radiator cap :bounce:
OK - so I also mixed up some Zerex G05 antifreeze to a 50/50 consistency and filled the radiator and the overflow.
The reason for the cap change? I put on a 16lb cap to replace the 20lb cap that was there. I had a small leak in the radiator and replaced it over 3 years ago. I started leaking again in less than a year. No water ever hits the ground - you just get the smell and the coolant loss. There has never, ever, been any coolant in the overflow tank in the 12 years that I've owned it. I drove it today and the level in the overflow tank had actually risen. I'm hoping this helps with the small leak. I understand that the radiator will have to be replaced again eventually but trust me - it's no easy task on an Explorer. Having done it once already, I might be able to get it down to just one day the next time.

Changed the spark plugs on the Mustang... There isn't much room with the big block in the engine bay...

SCORE! First, my 2 yr old garage night light/floods (provides light to alley and driveway) started dying as one of the non-removable lights wouldn't work anymore. Cool unit as when it doesn't sense motion, it goes into dim mode from 10% to 80% of full bright....a feature I just love as not to bother the neighbors, but still lights a dark area. Went to get a replacement, $99...ouch! But, I say score as I found another fixture, at Menards, that has the same function ...ONLY...it has light bulb sockets in case the lights burn out, I can replace the bulb. The fixture $24, the dimmable flood bulbs, $4....total cost $32....SCORE....looks nicer too as I found a white fixture to match the soffit.

Old light fixture on the left, new on the right. DUALUX feature is what I was going for.

New fixture mounted and it tested "PERFECT!"
https://scontent-dfw5-2.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/127242658_4275898605769985_8444599749922763550_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=2&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=MM1-9657_uwAX9yHl7V&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.**&oh=331375331092f3faf769d5815bd43630&oe=5FE74222

Lighting my driveway side and the alley in back of my garage, on the other side. Having the Dualux lighting option in case a thief doesn't trip the sensor, the lower lumens still are bright enough to make them think twice and see the warning sign for my video cameras.
